Great idea Jen. I`m here in the North West near Manchester. Meanwhile it`s goodnight from the UK to you all. Another long day tomorrow looking after my waifs and strays at work and I`m off to a 50th birthday party tomorrow night. Still haven`t decided what to wear and that`s just the earrings !

I have to say that David did a fantastic job from what I've seen so far. Ok, so he takes a better diamond pic than I do, but even adjusting for that, the stone looks so much more lively and pretty than it did in its original setting.

Thanks everybody! I'll post more pics as soon as I have it.

I've never had a problem with customs before- you just call a number to make the payment and then you get the item. I know others have had more difficulty, but fingers crossed my run of luck carries on! Sometimes they don't even ask for payment- seems to be the luck of the draw. Fed Ex usually pay any charges then bill me later (I think David uses Fedex), others ask you to pay before they release the package. So far, I've never had to pay anything outrageous and it still works out better value than buying in the UK. I had a stone set locally a few years ago, in a simple stock setting and it cost hundreds of £. It was nothing special and I was so disappointed, vowed never to do that again. Even with any customs charges, this one will be well worth it!

I hope I`m as lucky as you with Customs Jen. I`m alread planning my next DBL purchase lol. I can see me becoming hooked on heart shaped diamonds once my ring arrives and I quite fancy a matching pendant to it. I`ll be working forever at this rate, they won`t bury me when I go, they`ll either melt me down for all the gold or weigh me in for my carats !

I have a friend who is terminally ill. He has made a provision in his will that I am to have this done with him and wear him always.  It makes me shudder, but it makes him laugh, which is the main thing! He's survived way longer than his doctors expected, so I'm hoping he will outlive me and I never have to deal with this!

A small problem. DH has gone to London. With our camera. I'm scared of snakes, so I'm hoping Sally can be contained in her pit for a couple of days till he gets back. In my defence, I didn't expect to receive this so quickly or I would never have allowed the camera to leave the house.

No delay at customs at all and no charges, for some reason.
