I dont know wether this is the right room for this thread but here goes!

I maybe inheriting a Marquise diamond.  Does anybody have one? I am thinking about having it set horizontally in a Halo, does that sound like it would work? It maybe replace my bridal set so I would really like to make it into something I will treasure. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks so much in advance, if i arent supposed to post that here please delete or move!

Thanks, Elvie

Hi Elvie!

I don't have a marquise diamond, but I love them set horizontally.  I believe IHaveADiamondProblem has one set that way.  It's a beautiful ring.

Here's a shot of it from the photo gallery:

I prefer marquis set north south the diamond looks huge and enlongates the finger  that way and  more like an eyeball set east west IMO

hi All!
Elvawith , Thank you for posting!

That would be so cool if you get the diamond!

I agree with Annie- I LOVE the Marquise ring she showed- it looks lovely going left to right across the finger.

Dear Elvawith -

Here's mine.  It's set north/south with prongs.  If you're set on east/west, go for it!

You know, Elvie, Catherine Zeta-Jones has an E/W marquise and it's absolutely sensational!  Let me see if I can find a pic for you.................

I saw a really pretty three stone marquise on someone's hand the other day.  It was nice.

I love them set both ways.  Both rings posted are beautiful!  CZJ ring IS a plump one, isn't it?  At first glance, I thought it was an oval, but very pretty!
