I love this new ring by DBL...it has an east-west setting, which you don't see very often.  Anyone else out there with east-west set rings?

I am currently waiting on my marquise to come back from Danhov in California with his E-W setting.  David could have easily made the ring for me, but I wanted it JUST LIKE THE DANHOV...and if it had come back even slightly different, I would never have said a word, but would have been silently bummed.  So, David gave me the nod, and said to have it done by Danhov.  Since we live in a small town, and have a very good local jeweler with an in-house bench jeweler, I am happy to patronize the local merchants.  So, he is sending it to Danhov for me.  It should be back in 3 weeks or so.

Snooper, any pictures of Katherine Zeta Jone's E-W e-ring?

I love that E/W S-T that David is showing now, and the setting you chose for your marquise is my favorite!!!

I had a FLY radiant set E/W with traps.  The center was originally from DBl set up and down with trills, but I had a local friend of a friend jeweler change it out (this was pre-forum days and I did not think to just call David, duh!).  I wanted a more square-ish, deeper colored stone, so I sold it when I found my new FBY.

The FBY I am now thinking I may choose to reset E/W with trills, just to change things up a bit, but it would not be for a while if I do (and instead of spending the money on resetting I may just wait until I can trade it up).

Also, here are two photos of E/W settings I love.  I thought I had pictures of E/W marquises as necklaces, but I cannot find them.  Have to trck them down.

I don't have anything set E/W yet, but I just wanted to jump in and say that I love them.  I think you picked the perfect setting for your marquise, and I can't wait until it's done.

David did a big honking oval set east west once... I'll find a picture when I get home from work.

Oh yes, Annie...I remember that one and loved it.  Very simple.  Just showed off that huge oval.  Here is a picture.

Dang!  Michi - that ring is great!

KK - your guy's wedding band is one of my favorite gent rings.  Masculine, but with some sparkle.

Very nice Michi and KK...love that gent's ring.  There is just something about a marquise on its side...reminds me of a smile.

CH, you know...I believe the marquise cut came about because of a smile...the smile of the Marquise de Pompadour......I think Louis XIV had it commissioned.....that Louis....what a guy...

Michi!  LOVE that ring!  Love it!

kk, I'm still digging your DH's E/W marquise - I just think it looks perfect in that setting.  You have such impeccable taste.

Parku's necklace!  I love that necklace.... I think you need to get one like that when your Danhov ring is finished CH!!   Grin       Oh what beautiful east west settings!  I wish we could see those more often.      GL....as much as I like east/west settings,   Oh please don't change your DBL ring!   I just think it is too perfect the way it is!!!    Michi...that ring is really unique and beautiful too!    I LOVE the e/w radiant that David has!   ~Ronda

This has gotta be one of my most favorite semi mounts (E to W) of all time! When David had that 1.5 ct I1 EC (recut to radiant), I considered buying it. It would have gone into this setting.

But I'm sure something else will come along that I can't "live without".

I was never an Oval fan until I saw one set E-W.

And this is the most beautiful Oval (PINK at that) I've ever seen!!!! If only I had an extra 30K laying around!!!!!!!

KK, I too love your hubby's ring! I never thought a marquise could be masculine, but that ring really is! I love it set E-W.

I love that brownish pink oval also...I tried it on when I was in New York.  Simply stunning is all I can say.  I am so drawn to the unique settings...

I would someday like to have a rectangular stone (radiant, maybe) set this way in a necklace.  However,  until just now, I didn't know what it was called!  Thanks for the terminology assist!

I think an east/west radiant necklace would be great!
