I've finally decided what I would like to try for my first purchase at DBL, but I need help!  I want to start off small, for a first purchase.  I would like to price/get advice on what to choose.  I'd like one of these options:
     1) asscher stud earrings in WG, with appx .25ct for each one.
                                 OR
     2)  stud earrings in WG, with RB, maybe around .35 to .40ct for each.

I think I'm leaning toward the RB, as they are more classic, and that's what I usually go for.  I do not have to have the best of quality, just eye clean, white diamonds with plenty of sparkley !

On the other hand, I'd like to see the asschers and try them out, as I have my eye on the 5-stone asscher band.  Each stone in the band is appx. .25ct, and this would give me an idea of how they would look, and be something different than I have.

I would appreciate any input/advice and an idea of about how much the price would be for each of these.  I'm dying to try a DBL item, but want to start out with a small purchase.   david

OH exciting!!! Having had 2 pairs of DBL RB studs, I would recommend them!! My newest ones are cut by Sam Spade and are.. I1!! THE HORROR right??? Let me just say that the I1 are as clean as I've EVER SEEN!!! I've seen some Si1 that were more included than these babies!! Seriously, you can get a larger pair with a lower clarity and hands down, talk to David about Sam Spade ones!!!!

Asschers would be nice, but remember they face up smaller.

Yes, I think I would be happier with the RB since I can't go wrong with them, and could probably get a bigger look for less $$.  I realize with asscher/emerald cuts you must have a nice clarity to look good.  I would also be interested in trying DBL earrings secondhand, if someone wants to upgrade to a larger size.

The brilliance of the rounds will actually make them appear larger than they are.  I would go for the rounds!

I have 1.20 tcw DBL RB studs that I bought from Carathead.  I thought I wanted princess cut studs, but couldn't resist these, and I am SO GLAD I bought them!  To me, they look big for their weight.

So I'm of two minds-- I LOVE asschers, but A) they will look smaller for their carat weight, probably, and B) they won't be as sparkly on the ear.  OTOH, lots more people have RB studs than have asschers, so the asschers are definitely more distinctive....

I don't think you can go wrong with either.

In terms of RB, I've been eyeing Item # 1913. At $649 for .54ct, I think it's a great classic, every day pair of earrings. I think it would make a great first DBL purchase for you!

It's one of the many DBL beauties I'm considering  Tempted

Also, you might want to contact David to see what he can get in for you that he does not already have in inventory.

I too, would go with rounds, you have more flexibility in what you wear with them, and DBL does make 'gizmos' that you can dangle with the studs....

Sounds like the "ROUNDS" have it!!   Are your ears double pierced?  Then you can consider little asschers or little yellow radiants for your second holes! Grin    I do think everyone has to experience something yellow from DBL!!    You won't be disappointed either way you go!     In fact,   as Arnold Schwarzeneggar says  "YOU'LL BE BAAACK"!    Wink

Now, isn't that funny WM; I was just looking at those three-sided sweeties earlier today, and I wondered if anyone had made any into studs. Hummm, Great Minds...

I can't do it till this weekend but the place where I work sells asscher cut earrings. They are in gemstones, not diamonds, like amethyst and blue topaz and garnet! I'll take a picture in my ear and maybe that can help you decide because I know there are a ton of stud shots. But I don't recall any member having asscher earring studs. I know it won't be a diamond but you will get a feel for how an asscher looks on the ear. Actually I think they have a pair in limon quartz! I'll use those so they will be light enough to really get a feel how an asscher diamond will look!

I'm with WM on this one - I really want a pair of yellow trill studs.  I want the trills that bow out a little bit on the sides though, rather than being completely straight.  No, I'm not difficult to please at all.   angel

OOOOOHHHH! Asschers, please, get the asschers! My studs are rb, and I crave and covet a pair of asschers instead. I met a friend today at the gym, someone I haven't seen since highschool and she had the most divine little asscher studs. I was practically drooling!

Aaaaasssschhhheeeerrrssss......

OOOHHHHH!  I just can't make up my mind!  David says that white RB studs he can do for me, but it's really not his specialty.  I'm thinking now, for a small purchase to try, I may be better off with a little yellow, princess stud for my second piercing to start off.  I saw the post of the new ones he has, but I'm thinking more along the size of the smallest ones for the first purchase, like .25ctw or so to try DBL and yellow diamonds all in one.  I've looked at the ones he has availible now, as well as the white diamond ones for around $400.  What do y'all think of these for second piercings?

ETA...Big Red, I'd love to see earshots of the asscher cut!

I'm still rather reluctant about online buying...it's just a little scary for me, that's why I'm opting for a small first time purchase.  I know once I try it, I'll be hooked for sure, but I can't help but be a little reluctant at first.

I think I've become the  icon_queen of changing my mind!! N1i'mconfusedHL  I'm sorry!

I own a pair of yellows and I wear them everyday! My absolute favorite pair of earrings! You WILL NOT be disappointed if you get a pair of those! I will post pics of the asschers Friday night after I get off of work! I know it can be scary ordering from someone on-line. But you will be pleasantly surprised and become an addict like the rest of us. Do what makes you feel comfortable and if it is doing a "small" order first, then do it that way!  OR.......you could always make a special trip to NY and get them in person! I have a feeling if you do that though you'll be coming home with a lot more then a pair of earrings! LOL  Grin Evil
