Well everyone the wait is over!!

We just got this back from GIA and they confirmed that its as beautiful as we knew it to be!!  Here are the specs but let me just put the color question to rest right now...it is most definitely a fabulously white D color!!!

Eeeeks!  It's a D, it's D, it's a D!   yahoo

My original appraisal said that it was a D/SI2, but I didn't put much stock in it because it came from the same place that the ring was purchased (by an old boyfriend).  You know, they inflate the appraisal so that the guy thinks he's getting a really good deal on a stone that's really a G/I1 or something less than represented.  I guess there are a few honest retailers left in the world.
Now, what to do, what to do . . . ?   Tempted

Awesome...it looked like a D...I am just used to there being some sort of trick question involved.  It is stunning.

Actually, he was pretty cute, a very generous and thoughtful person, and he made a decent living.  We met here in Florida and had lots in common (he was in finance and me in accounting; we also liked the same hobbies, etc.)  We actually worked for the same employer.  However, the company was purchased and although I was offered a job out of state, I did not want to move away from friends and family.  Our big issue was that his career split us up - he moved to Atlanta to work for the old company and then to New York to work for the new company to follow the "big bucks" his employer paid him to move around.  I am more of a home body.  I've lived in Florida for 28 years and I'm not planning to move any time soon.  Also, I'm not a fan of the long distance relationship.

Okay, so there's the whole sob story!   boohoo

The diamond is really quitre nice in person. Besides having great taste in women, the guy had a good eye for diamonds.....I'll tell you that much!!
