HI All!

Here's the diamond:

It has a lovely shape.

No question in my mind it's pretty white.

In terms o f clarity- here's the main area of imperfection- in the sot above it's at around 8:00 ( on the left side of the diamond near the edge)- below is a close up

There's no prize if you get it right- but get it wrong and we send sally the cobra to your house! ( that's a joke)

Dont fret Trinkette- no one could actually give an accurate grade based on photos...it's just for fun!

I will say that it looks very white to me.

In terms of clarity- it's definately eye clean- but the photos do allow you to see a little schmutz ( technical diamond term)

It actually looks somewhat blue in the pics, so...
1. D had on a blue shirt while taking pics
2. Stone has fluor
3. Natural Light Blue color

In terms of color- looking at the photos, I can see what you guys are talking about.
If we were striving for accuracy- say if we were running a contest, we'd have needed to take a face down shot of the stone on a white background-like this

That's how to determine the color of a colorless diamond.
Fancy Colored Diamonds are judged  "Face Up"

In any event- if you guys would like me to post my guess as to what GIA will call it, I will.

By the way, I should mention that we sent the diamond to the GIA on behalf of a client, who owns it.

Well, I am thinking of making #2480 into a pendant to match #1346.  But I have alot of ideas for a marquise setting too.

N1i'mconfusedHL  I may decide to part with it.   Huh?

Here are a few of my favorite settings for your enjoyment and feedback!

Beautiful stone Mikla! I'm going to guess E-F color. I'm wondering if it has blue flur too, did you ever look at it under a black light?  I really love the proportions of that marquise. I'm feeling the 3rd setting of the three you posted too, lovely!!

No, I never looked at it under a black light.  N1oops03HL2 It might have a little fluor; I'm just not sure.  It is definitely very white though.

So far pic #3 is leading the pack . . . thanks for your feedback!

There's also this really nice EW setting that DJ posted on another thread . . . we'll mark this pic #4!

I can't wait to see what you do with it Mikla-my original ER is a marquise and I had pondered making it into a pendant at one time, so looking forward to seeing your final pick Smiley

Here's how the marquise was set before David sent the diamond off to the GIA.
