AZ-don't feel bad, as weird as it sounds-I don't think some people even know that diamonds can be different colors!  I don't know how though!!!

Snooper, don't be upset, that person might have been hunting high and low for a pink band and just focused in on that...

Aside from looking for a long legged yellow baguette..(ahem)..I'd also like a large colorless diamond briolette for a pendant. (lariat style).  Are these hard to find?

Anywho--this was a fun thread to resurrect.

A lot of fun djm, it reminded me that my jeweller handed me one of my briolette earrings and said, with a smile on her face, guess what I broke the other one....
OK it is not tragedy, they were only rock crystal......but.......I was a little upset even though I was smiling.
So thanks for reminding me djm you are a doll....  Huh?

I'm sorry Joia--but that made me laugh... especially the "you are a doll" part! Buwhahhaha!!

I could just see you smiling and seething inside...LMAO!!!!

I think David has found briolettes before. The ones below are not teardrop briolettes but I think they are some sort of tweener of a briolette. David has more expertise, of course.

I'm not prejudice--I like tweeners too. What I want is something that will look nice if it flips--I think that would be very likely with a lariat style necklace...right?

HI Everyone!
Yes, we've seen some colorless teardrop briolettes a few weeks ago...
We should be able to post one soon!@
It might take a few days, but it will be easier to find than that yellow baguette ( which I am still on the lookout for!)

I LOVE briolette diamonds. I passed on a gorgeous pair of antique briolettes a couple of years ago and I regret it regularly. The ones that got away.

I think a briolette would be gorgeous in that style of setting, DJM. Go for it!

Briolettes are lovely and they hang just right. I don`t have diamond briolettes but i do have a pink tourmaline with paraiba tourmalines and diamonds. Very similar to the style you`ve chosen DJM. I must this style of necklace seems to hang just right. Here`s a pic of mine

Really nice piece Awestruck!
We recently had a whole parcel of Paraibas, I never thought of setting them that way.

We could even do a DBTY with paraibas....hmmmmm

Here's a nice stone.

It's a softer white.
You can only notice the color if it's in front a white background.

The sparkle is really nice.
it's already drilled for a necklace setting.

Nice David--really pretty.  How big is it?

I'm trying to match two transitional cut stones I have that are G in color. So, I'd like something whiter...any chance of that happening?

Very good chance djm!

We have a second stone which is at least three shades lighter.
1.46cts.

Let me see if I can get a few photos...

wow- did I screw the pooch on his one.
I was looking at the two stones separately- and the 1.46 looks so white, I took it for a J.

ITEM #: R2885
Briollette Diamond, Loose

  WEIGHT: 1.46ct
  SHAPE: Briollette
  COLOR: M
  CLARITY: SI2
  MEASUREMENTS: 6.60 x 5.35 mm
  FLUORESCENCE: NONE

Price: $3549

This one has a few small "naturals" causing me to grade it SI2.

Anyway, when I put them next to each other to get a color comparison, I see that.....they are really close in color! Maybe the 1.46 ( on the right) is a hair darker?

Yu can see the difference in shpae here as well.....the 1.46ct a little chubbier than the 1.16ct.

duh_ forgot to put the stats on the first one....I fixed it, go look again....

I like the chubby one too. I think that the cut and shape is so different to anything else that the colour difference wouldn't bother me. You could always add a yellow into the mix somewhere, so there was a sort of sliding scale of colour.
