I would love to see that trilliant as a fixed pendant with a very, very delicate halo.  That would be delish!!!

Oh, I would do it point up, BTW.

Oh GL I tried one on in Antwerp that was like that.  I just loved it!  It really looks great on!

I've been converted.
I used to be a shapist...I'd admit it! (This has to do with my traumatic engagement rings story where the trilliants flanking my sapphire looked like frozen spit) triangles would make me burst into tears, but that one you posted is sure nice. Smiley

DANG, another thread I missed in the last few days, and MORE new stones that are TDF.  That trill, hmmmm...shapist?  If I were, I'm not anymore; my fanny is officially kicked.

I love GL's pendant idea for it.  Maybe a colored halo pendant - pink, anyone?  Rose gold?  How unique would that be?!

And I'm totally with WM, and LOVING the facets on that radiant; GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!

Raises hand...... and meagerly steps forward...... Yes, I am one of "those" people who just can't seem to love a trillion. Why?? I don't have a clue.  And actually it's kind of odd because I love a good shield shape and that cool "superman" cut. Go figure! lol

I remember being told once (I don't remember by who) that a TRILLION is a triangle shape with bowed sides, and that a TRIANGLE shape is just that - a triangle with very straight sides.  I have no idea if that's true though.

And I have no idea why I added that anyway. LOL  Just kinda came out.  Grin

Mikla, I adore trilliant cut stones, but, in my head, I can never see to make them work as the center for a ring. The ring you've posted makes me think that not only can it be done, but, it can be exquisite...

Mikla-I too love that setting and have been throwing something similar around in my head for a stone I have waiting to be set, but with E-W set baguettes running down the shank.

Was also considering a bypass ring with it?!?!?  It is kind of throwing me for a loop as to what I should do with it, but I absolutely love the shape and sparkle of it.

Dear Diamondluvr -

First of all, your stone is TDF!  I love the clipped corners, the cut, the color, absolutely everything about it!   wow

My vote would be for the first setting you described like the pic I posted, only with baguettes.  Maybe double prong?  woohoo

Would love to see the final product when you get there!   picturewhore

Best,
Mikla

Mikla-I am considering dbl prongs or bar set corners, not sure yet-but the project will be a ways off, so I will have time to think it through I guess Smiley

Okay, dumb question, what are "bar set corners"?

 Huh? Mikla

No dumb questions Smiley  Its like it sounds, just a straight bar across the flat corner-I'll see it I have a pic.

T-thanks I believe she is 1.51ct(about 9x9x9mm) and I still haven't decided how to set her either!  I guess my creativity is running low these days  Undecided  Too many other choices to be made, we've been(meaning me) choosing new paint, lighting and flooring for the new and old houses.  At least the old house is complete and on the market now-what a relief(NO MORE WALLPAPER REMOVAL---YEAH!), this lets me focus on the other place!  And hopefully more on jewelry design too Grin
