Well, of course *I* think it would be awesome-- a substantial ring for a really good price.  But the shape really needs to draw you in-- your diamond will call your name.  Is this one calling??   Wink

--Robin

the first time i heard of an asscher cut was about 4 years ago reading in a tabloid about a ring that demi moore was wearing....i saw that gorgeous stone and fell in love!  when me and my FH were ER shopping i couldnt find them in any stores, big or small, that i visited.  and the ones that said they cold get one? the prices were bananas!  i know i will love this once i have it, even my FH says he thinks its "cool".  the asscher is just such a special cut that sucks you right in!  my princess has its sparkle but this just has such a draw to it!  god im getting myself all excited!  ill be on this all day tomorrow waiting for david to reply!

 david extremely excited girl here!

I've posted something similar on another thread, but here's what I think.  I have a radiant ER.  Love it, love it.  I adore radiants and princess cuts.  But it's as if my asscher has a totally different personality.   The radiant is a delightful extrovert, sparkling everywhere.  Maybe she's even had a glass of chardonnay too many, if it's a really sunny day.  She's all, "Wooo-hooo!  Look at me!"

The Asscher waits for your gaze to turn to her, and then draws you in, like a bookish introvert who, once engaged in conversation, turns out to have so much of interest to say.  She's one you look into for her sparkle, rather than one who projects it outside herself.

Congrats Sanchica, I'm a lover of step-cuts myself. The first time I laid eyes on an asscher cut  faintthud

Loved it! How lucky you get to see it in person! You should definitely visit David and try out his inventory (and take lots and lots of pics for us to drool over!)

And....

Sanchica - I bought an asscher from David last month (when I was in a particularly weenie, weak state of self-control).  For comparison, my stats are pretty similar to the 1.06, except mine had strong blue fluorescence and strong corners:

Here's a couple of pictures of it (it's in the sold section) on DBL.  I just got it last week and it's terrific!

No apologies, necessary Tea.   Just doing your job as  4 police.  I posted that I bought it three minutes after I hung up with David (and I did it promptly as I knew what heat I'd take 2 days later when I revealed my PL surprise).   angel  I didn't take a picture of the asscher last week as it's unmounted and well, David takes better pictures of unmounted diamonds and I'll never be able to do it justice like he does.  I hope that pleases the  4 police as to my compliance with the regs!  Wink

Michi, I know you bought it a little while ago as a "blind" DSA (how is your eye, BTW?) but so quiet about you actually receiving it! And YES, you can take and post pics of it unmounted! Sorry, not gonna cut it with the "David takes better pictures" excuse.

Sam? Isn't she past the 72 hour violation?

And if I am in violation, which it sounds like I am, can I get a reprieve as I'm not at home this week?  (Sanchica, sorry for the hijack - I may have to go underground in a minute!!)

No no, no going underground.

Sally is still in Denver somewhere having a good hormonal cry with Alyson....  icon_scratch

You have 24 hours after you return home to post pics! (BTW, when would you be returning home?) We'll be lenient on her, right Sam? Not too much though since it's her SECOND (the DSA on us diamond sisters with the PL)

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Not the hissing snakepit!

When I have money and if/when I'm released from the pit, I'm going to set it in a pendant NSEW with a teeny white microset halo (a barely noticeable one) and a diamond briolette, yet to be located, hanging from the end.

I'm in Texas.  Diamond is in LA.  I'm home on Saturday.  Will take pictures of unmounted diamond, though it doesn't sound too exciting of a picture.  (Maybe I'll borrow the next door neighbor's doggie.for a photo shoot a la Snooper and Elizabeth)!!

How is it that Bunny and Sally seem to be such good buddies?!!  Are they in hormonal alliance??!!

OMG - I'm so glad!  I hate going underground.  I get so claustrophobic and that's hard to do in the BIG state of Texas!

Okay, pics by Sunday! You have plenty of time to think of props for your lovely. She wants to be shown off too! If no pics by then, that will be THREE violations!

I'm a little puzzled with the hormonal crying myself... hence the   icon_scratch

Not really... do we have anyone with THREE violations?? Michi seem to be the forerunner offender here.

DSA's are okay (at times encouraged against hubbies and significant others) but NOT against your diamond sisters and brothers!!

I swear on my Grandma's grave that I'm not planning anything!!!! I'm kind of guessing the answer is I won't be alive to enjoy my diamonds and my widowed DH will have to sell my jewelry.  I do like to calculate my risks and this one does sound too high, even for me!

Now, just for clarification (I'm still relatively new to this board  angel).  How is it that a  diamond sneak ATTACK on your DH is okay and a diamond surprise (which seems so sweet) for your diamond sisters and brothers is not?

Geez - you guys are tough!  I hope I'm up to this challenge.  If I had only lurked tonight...sigh...

Okay.  Off to bed w/ me.  It's late here!
