You can borrow the quaich from me Grin - nice Art Deco, hallmarks for Edinburgh, 1929. I can't remember the silversmith at the moment.

How about you let me borrow your wife's jewelry!  HA!  Hey that could be my something borrowed!!!  You might never see it again...but you know.

Happy to, as long as we can sort out two small issues:

1) Customs - out and back in
2) Convincing DW

(hehehe)  How about borrowing something blooo - like the M ring and matching DBL earrings, OMC?  AND...What the heck is a 'quaich'? Huh?

But seriously, maybe if DH is real in letting us honeymoon in Italy and Greece (my choice, but he hasn't been there either) we can take you and Mrs. OMC out for dinner.  How cool would that be?  (at least for me!)

Miz M.  so long as the piper doesn't play Amazing Grace (which always makes me cry), I don't give a rip what he plays so long as he can pipe me in to the church and out again; kilts a-swingin'.  Grin   I've never met a decent piper that couldn't make me raise goose bumps.  They make me crazy happy!
(Stillk several options would be good to see if his repetoire can cover it!)  We're a little limited in options out in SoCal.  But I do know 2 pipers (none with Scott affiliations.  protest)

A quaich is a traditional Scottish drinking vessel, with two handles.

If you are coming to Italy, you are most welcome to come and visit, Jean! And dinner is on us!

(I believe "Amazing Grace" plaid on the pipes would make me cry too, but not necessarily for the same reasons  Evil)

I've always wanted to see Venice, and I understand it is sinking fast.  I also want to see the Olympic site and maybe see if there are any baby slopes or little luge runs I can play on.  The man is good for double black diamonds on Mammoth - which is very serious skiing.  Also Milan.  My mother thinks that is the penultimate city in all of Italy.

(DH has a good buddy that has a villa not a day's drive from Rome we might base out of, so that may help for a week.)

I would so love to meet Mrs. OMC and  perhaps the cubs, if you'd allow!  They are just so absorbable! And I'd love to see the face that goes with those beautiful ears, bust, and fingers.  I think you'd enjoy DH, OMC.  He's a definitely superior intellect, and tho he's not the Rennaissance Man you are, his mathematucian background would probably be fun for you to mess with.

Well, Venice has been "sinking fast" since I am old enough to remember it - so far it's still there. Which is not to deny that there are problems, but sometimes I fear the need to be reporting sensational events ("Venice gone in three days!") overcomes reality.

Your mother is right about Milan too - it is not the prettiest city. It has many pretty and interesting sights and is very lively, but overall it's on the wrong side of ugly.

The Olympic area (it's half a dozen sites, really) has plenty of baby runs; that's where I used to go skiing when I was growing up - I'm from Torino!

Of course you could meet the cubs; no question - I'm just sorry that you cannot bring the cats, because they adore felines - from Amur Tigers down.

One word of caution: Italy is long, thin and poorly connected. Although there is a fast train between Milan and Rome (3.5 hours), if you plan to see various places, you are almost certainly better off booking accommodation in several locations, rather than trying to travel to and fro.

The clothes of Renaissance Man are cut a bit too large for me; I'm more of a bric-a-brac collector of mostly useless facts, but thanks very much.

When dreams come closer to reality, I'll definitely be querying you for what to do, where to stay, what to see.  As usual, you are a font of wonderful information, OMC!  I hope we can meet face to face.

One down, two to go.  and honest, I didn't make her get this model. angel

...and she won't be in red, it was the only color in this model available to try on..

Of course, it will be MUCH shorter, a more appropriate size, and she promises not to have purple hair.  Roll Eyes

You are correct, OMC.  Today it is 17 shades of 'Alpine' green.  However, by the time the wedding rolls around it could be any or all colors of the rainbow.  Roll Eyes

Well, I've yet to get it out of the original plastic bag.  Grin  It's so dusty and damp around here, I'd rather not expose the fabric to the air until I need to get it altered.

Be assured, there will be picutres when and if that day ever arrives - you'll note my one and only DS, who is to be my matron of honor, has yet to get her dress. Roll Eyes She knows me all too well, I'm afraid!

Oh you sound like me.  I love to put things off.  Please get married so we can see the dress in person...well on a person.
