So.  It's time to chose the wedding band for Li'L BLOOO. (told ya this was a 3 ring deal, GG, didn't I? Evil)

Being so very dainty, I'm thinking that RR1909 would be a good match for BLOOO. http://rockdiamond.c...nd--works-with-halos

David tells me that they can do it in platinum and white diamonds or pink and pink.  So the big question is - do I go with classic platinum or pink to pop the halo?  I'm looking for opinions - you guys know I'm imagination handicapped, and my DH is good with whatever I want to do. Evil.

I'd do a custom wrap band with platinum and white diamonds. Have the diamonds hug around ONLY the part of Li'L BLOOO that has stones, showing as little metal as possible; let the rest of the shank be metal. Then, down the road, for a special occasion or anniversary (next anniversary is none too soon for me  Evil hehe) add another identical band to hug the other side, if you like.

Of course, I could be WAY off here, but, I fear that adding more pinks will take away from Li'L BLOOO herself, while, as it is now, the pinks FRAME her, and the whites frame the entire group of colored stones.

My first gut instinct was white. Good Lord that is a gorgeous ring. Pink and blue and white diamonds all on one ring and it looks so classic yet so extraordinary.

Thanks, Meb Wistress  Kiss  I'm pretty fond of her, myself.

Now Miss T, to put this into perspective,  Platinum with white diamonds that do not exceed the length of the 3-stone area.

Won't this leave a mostly platinum band visible?  Is that the effect you were going after?

I don't know if this will help you visualize better, but here is my pink halo with a white gold/diamond band.  I had thought I would order a pink band to go with it, but I really think it kind of takes away from the centrality of the pink in the main ER.  JMHO.  Either way, it will be a gorgeous set!!

I agree with the white!  The pink frames the blue and the white frames the entire package.  That's such a gorgeous ring and so incredibly unique.  Heirloom quality all the way!

Looks like the consensus is overwhelmingly classic platinum and white diamonds.  I wish I could get a picture of Trinkette's idea.  I can't really visualize what that would look like.

Also, if you have time, could you please put Blooo and any version of rr1909 together so we could see how snugly, or not, they fit together.

Much as I like the thought of custom work, circumstances aren't really good in the immediate future.  Still, I am hopeful things will improve in the next several months, so it might be possible. hmmm....

Thanks, all, for your insights and suggestions!  grouphugg  If we go custom,  I'll probably be asking for more advice. Kiss

Ah2bqat, if you are unsure or unclear about ANYTHING when it comes to purchasing sparklies, don't let ANYONE dictate what you do!  a082

Even if there are one hundred people in agreement... if you can't "see" it, then, please, don't acquiesce.  Be sure you are happy, content and excited with your plan of action before proceeding. Remember, ultimately, YOU are the one who is to be pleased, not anyone else.  Kiss

One thing I wouldn't discount is a plain platinum band, with a slight dome shape, maybe about 2.5mm. Easy enough to try one on and you'll get a feel for whether you like it straight away. Lil Blooo is such a statement piece, she might not like to share the limelight...

Well, ladies, I really am sort of spacially handicapped and have a very difficult time visualizing alternatives.   violent4  On the other hand, there are voices here I would trust very much not to lead me astray in terms of both style and taste.

I would like to see how snuggly the RR1909 and BLOOO would be.  It would help me very much to see her with a fitted band, which is something I've not tried before, but think I would like a good bit.  So thanks, David.  rock  I look forward to seeing BLOO and any color RR1909 on a finger for a photo, even one that hasn't yet been set with diamonds.  That would give me enough visual to see if I can use the regular band or if a custom band would be necessary.

I love BLOOO's pink halo, but I couldn't picture it with a matching pink band in my mind.  I have a couple of pink gold with white diamond eternity bands  but they are nowhere near the rich rose of the DBL pink gold, so it wasn't a good visual. But I do need to say the pink halo does stand out, and I can see where a matching pink band might overpower the original ring - not my desire at all - so the voices here were reassuring in that sense.  A move to platinum is no loss of joy to me.  Honest.

I CAN picture a plat/white diamond band because I saw my mom's for the last 50+ years of my life; but I can't picture what Trink is talking about - first because BLOO is visiting David so the real estate coverage is twisting my mind, and second because I've never seen a similar type of fitted band where the portion with diamonds show little or no matching metal in the fitted area.

It would really be advantageous to have photoshop, but I don't have it.  EMOAYtextmoan

I'm wondering if a band with FEWER diamonds would work. I think if you had one the width of your engagement band with a sort of etoile effect, you could put some pinks in there. Or try a plain band. The important thing is not to have anything compete with blue. She's such a looker and doesn't like to be upstaged.

I like the etoile idea best so far.  I think it will match Li'l Bloo's band better than an all-diamond band.  But that's JMHO!

You mean like a skinny 'swiss cheese' ring?  Wouldn't that be sort of too much contrast in style?  I'm thinking polka dots and stripes next to each other?  Can you float me a picture to give me a better perspective, ladies?  Huh?

I was thinking more along the lines of matching the band styles of the two rings.  I'm not sure you are going to get a pave band that exactly lines up with Li'l Bloo.  I might go with a plain wide platinum band, or the standard etoile, to keep it simple.

I can't see that either, to be honest. I think the two styles are maybe a bit too different, althought I've been wrong before! Maybe it is one of these combos that just works when you see it.

I like the look of GL's straight diamond band with her EC, maybe that would work well?

It's a challenge, for sure, because Li'l Bloo steals the show.  I can't wait to see what you finally decide on, Ah2bqat!

I feel like I don't even know you anymore.  Just kidding.  I think the diamond band will be beautiful...I guess I am the only sicko who wants more pinks, right?

I dunno , GG.  I'm leaning to it being too much pink and fading out the BLOOO.  I'm still contemplating a pink halo for the the Whynot2K  as an enhancer for my SS pearls.  That, or something like the new R1649 http://rockdiamond.c...rquise-shape-diamond

But BLOOO's new BFF...

Sorry, Mikla, Meb Wistress.  The etoile style doesn't work for me next to BLOOO.  All by itself, yes; but too distracting next to such a delicate piece, in my mind's eye - which is admittedly, quite myopic.

Trink - if the RR1909 doesn't look that good, what sort of stones were you contemplating to cover the area under BLOOO's diamonds - baguettes, really skinny radiants, rounds?  And would you be trying for shared prongs or what to minimize the visible metal for that area?

I woke up last night trying to figure out what is in your mind.  It intrigues me.

Methinks rounds. Shared prongs only if the setter says it's safe/robust enough for something worn every day.

Exactly. Nothing complicated. I'm thinking that with a little artistry via the setting work, rounds could visually "blend" with the half moons on the Li'L BLOOO ring to create a sparkly white frame around the rest of the piece.
