Congratulations Trinkette on your impending nuptials and your beautiful ring.

I know I will get pounded for this...but, I think this post probably hurt David's feelings.  I am sure he pays LOTS of money to keep this forum going, and gives up countless hours of his day, answering all of our posts even on weekends.  So, to essentially give Tiffany pages and pages of free advertising and accolades on David's forum probably didn't make him feel too great.

I don't think there is any problem showing off a new ring...but we need to be sensitive to the feelings of the big guy who makes this all possible.

I agree, DJ. Me, I haven't had the opportunity to buy anything from David (yet) but I really appreciate that he's put together this amazing forum full of wonderful, warm people so I want to say "THANK YOU, DAVID!" and please come back Trinkette! You have lots of friends here!

CH, I share your sentiment - David is so generous to provide us with this forum, ESPECIALLY with so little censorship about the jewelry we get from sources outside DBL.
I know I was very hesitant when I first joined the forum about posting pics, etc., of things I'd gotten prior to finding DBL, but really happy when I was encouraged to show them off!  It's so cool to be able to share in the delight of others' fantastic finds and favorite pieces!
Just my personal opinion here, but I can't see any problem whatsoever in the curiosity David has about the premium on the branded pieces...and absolutely admit to having the same curiosity myself.  While I completely agree with T's right not to disclose, it doesn't squash my curiosity...  Call me nosy...and I'll admit to it fully, just can't help it; in fact it's one reason I'm here, b/c of my infatuation and obsession with all things sparkly, ya know.  Don't forget where you met me :-).  My 2 cent's worth...

Hi Everybody,
I'd like to say that I am very happy that trinkette is back-.
At no time was I ever offended or angry at any forum member.

Here's some thoughts about our forum, and forums in general.

I realize other sites exist- and that people surfing and posting on our site might want to surf and post at others as well.
More power to them- have fun, it's a big internet out there.

Same thing for where our friends, clients, and forum partners buy their diamonds.
Clearly, - in spite of our best efforts- people actually buy some of their diamonds at places OTHER than us.  Hey, if someone loves diamonds, they love diamonds.
Show it ALL off- have fun.

Just tell everyone you bought it from us, no matter where you got it.

I'm kidding.

Show your stuff, but please don't mention other vendors on the forum.

We use this space for a new type of advertising.....

The place we used to advertise generates revenue by charging vendors.
This place costs us money to maintain- we don't make any money at all from this forum directly.

What I discovered in life is that the more you give yourself freely, the more comes back.
So, when people enjoy this forum, and find value-  we've done our job for the day.
You have fun- we have fun.
The real reason behind this forum is about giving something back to our friends and clients

Tinkette,  What a lovely ring, and how wonderful of your partner to put so much thought into it!  I hope that you really enjoy it, and wish you lots and lots of love and happiness!
