Yes, Snooper, I'm sorry abput the "teaser' ring post.  I meant to post faster there so no one would have time to respond, but my computer logged me off before I had time to spill the beans. My FI bought the $7 ring to torture me, but decided in the end that I would have been too upset (actually, I probably would have been so excited at the "moment" that I wouldn't have known the difference).

I loved the look of the "real" ribbon ring in photos, and was very excited to try one on while at Tiffany's. Quickly, I learned that particular style looks awesome OFF my hand.  Although very elgant, on my hand, it was too complicated for my childish looking little fingers.

Also, I REALLY wasn't here for two days.  You all were really the first (and, so far, the only) one's I told, and I only had a little while to email before I left town.  I didn't have enough time before I left to get all the pics and info together for you, THAT's how the long thread started...

LOL It's ok, we forgive ya!!! I'm so happy for you!!! Really, your ER is exquisite!!! I gotta admit, this will be one of the most memorable threads on this forum! At least for me (and you)!!! LOL I first saw your thread before my beloved HP book was in my hands, and ONLY THIS thread made me want to stop reading JUST to see the goods...

But then I saw you didn't post the goods! LOL TORTURE!!

Congrats to you and your FIANCE!!! Ok, being a band freak, I gotta ask... What band will you wear with this ring? Does your ring have a knife edge or is it smooth?

I say a nice shared prong band or plain plat band would look marvelous!!!!

Hey Trinkette,
Since you already know what it cost, we won't be spoiling anything for you- but I do feel our readers have the right to know what the premium for the little blue box is.......

That premium is a lot, but many feel it's the safe way to do things so to not get ripped off.  I saw some 2nd hand TIffany rings, and one was a 1.02 I/VVS and the retail on that puppy was well over $10k!!! We all know you can get a diamond of that size for a lot less.  Insane premium, but I do know many are willing to do so for the name and piece of mind.  Pitty that evil mauls make buying diamonds so difficult (trust, finding a decent one, etc).

Hey Snoop- remember that there's a lot of bogus "branded" merchandise out there.
Second hand Tiffany rings might have had the stone changed , etc....  the trademark  alone is not really enough to ensure you're getting an actual Tiffany ring.....
Of course walking into the the actual store would mean you're paying the premium, but at least guarantee you're getting their ring.

This is an interesting thread because it will allow us to know exactly what that premium is!

Call me a mad, soft English woman but we need to remember 2 people who love each other just got engaged just a couple of days ago.
Can we save analysis of price, size and blue boxes for another time ?
This is Trinkette and her FI time, let`s not spoil it, the ring is lovely, let`s leave it at that ...
Waiting to be shot down here now !
But tough, that`s my  My2cents

I was just re-reading and had to laugh at the idea that your ring was an 'orphan'!!!  I second your thoughts about the color!

My DBL 3 stone Asscher ring has a J colored center stone and I love the depth of color it has and would not trade it for an E color ever Smiley

Everyone is amazed when I tell them what color it actually is and I just tell them that is an attribute to how David picks out excellently cut stones Cheesy

Any Date set for the big day???

Gotta say I am right there with you Awestruck! This is T's day (no matter how much anxiety she caused us-LOL!)  We all know that the value is there with a DBL piece vs a Tiffany's piece--but sometimes it isn't all about the money... Best wishes kiddo! Smiley

Hi Everyone!
I see that my curiosity was a bit too much for some.
IN my defense, please remember that diamonds have been my life for over 30 years....and I'm really curious as to what a ring costs in a blue box....!

IN any event, our sincere congrats to Trinkette- and thinks for understanding

Oh Trinkette, I'm afraid your feelings might've been hurt here, and I sure hope that isn't the case.  If it is, I am so sorry.
I know I'm definitely guilty of getting all caught up in the bling factor - and may have overstepped the bounds of appropriateness in my um, zeal, shall we say?  Also I love a great drama, and was fully engaged in all the intrigue and thoroughly enjoying your teasing, and everyone's participation in 'the game'.  Anticipation is such a wonderful, yet agonizing treat, ya know?  Intentional or not.
Regardless, Trinkette - Awestruck and others hit the nail on the head and I know the other CDIers would fully agree - of ultimate importance in our lives are our significant relationships and their meaning in our lives, and diamonds are one lovely expression of that joy, so many times - as is true in this case.

Please accept my sincere apologies if I have offended in any way whatsoever.

I am SO excited for you and for this special, special time in your life!!!  There is nothing quite like it on earth!!!  I hope you will continue to share your engagement story and wedding plans...at your own pace and in your own way...and please know I rejoice with you at the miracle of finding a life partner.  All the rest is just icing on the cake...and very very very sparkly icing it is!!!!!  Huge congratulations to you and God bless YOU and YOURS!!!!!!!!!!
