Oh, hey, thanks, y'all!  Yes, we've been having fun-- it's nice having an anniversary on a weekend!  DH had yesterday afternoon off, so he took me to lunch at my favorite restaurant in The Big City, and then we went walking around a bit.  Best part?  I popped into a jeweler's, and the clerk was boredboredbored.  So I asked to see a huuuuge (almost 6 ct.) princess (rect., set E/W) with trills (over 1ct EACH).  It was actually, I'm ashamed to say, too big for my hand.  Cry  I looked at it for a moment, asked, "What color is that?  About a J?"  Clerk looks at the tag, looks at me funny <G>, and (you know the punchline) confirms that, yes, it's a GIA J/VS2.  So now, we're fast friends, she and I  Cheesy.  She starts pulling out all the biggies, including a just-under-6ct pear with pear sides (THAT is a good combo!), G/SI1 center, 150K+.  Again, too big for my hand, but spectacular.

I will say that this has me worried.  I've always planned, when I win the Lotto, to buy that 5ct. pear that David has.  But now I'm fretful.  What if it's too large for my hand?  Ah, what stressors and worries I have in my life.   Grin

Anyway, that's the part of our celebration I thought you'd want to hear about.  Let's see, in other news, we're going out to a trendy sushi place tonight, even though DH doesn't like sushi.  (They have cooked dishes for him to eat.)  I asked why he suggested this place, and he said he enjoys watching me eat sushi more than he enjoys eating.  How cute is THAT??  Presents?  I'm washing and waxing DH's car (a task he hates), and he's gotten me a double strand of 7.5 mm Akoya pearls (YAY!).  Oh, and he's buying the Bronx Blue from Carathead for me.

Like how I just buried the lead?  Yeah, well.  There's a BIG catch <G>.  The Blue will be my 40th birthday present.

I am currently 38.  Grin

Those of you who have been around for awhile know that my Asscher was in DH's possession for about five months before I could wear it.  He will not relent.  Just trust me here.  Oh, he's made some intimations that perhaps, under certain circumstances, I could "earn" the right to wear it for a day.  Roll Eyes  But I'm not betting the grocery money.  Roll Eyes  Still, I'm pretty excited.  I LOVE that ring, and am delighted to have the chance to own it, even if I won't get to wear it for one year, three months, and twenty-four days.  But who's counting?

Hey Robin, I didn't know your DH took courses at ADS U. Is he a graduate? (Brilliant, just brilliant).

Just think, one year, three months and twenty four days of holding this over your head. The guy is a master-- I am so impressed.

Sounds like you're having a great anniversary weekend!  I can't imagine waiting over a year for the Bronx Blue, but you're clearly a far more patient woman than I.  I'm very excited that you will be getting it though!

Robin, remember shrinkage?   You wear a ring for one day and it looks small.  I bet even Liz Taylor thinks hers looks tiny  by now.

A belated Happy Anniversary.   Many many more.

Eeks, I'm late to this thread robin!  Sounds like you had a most outstanding anniversary though, major congratulations!!

It took every ounce of restraint I had in my body not to snag the Bronx Blue when I saw it was available, and I could not be happier now!
I am SO SO completely happy this AMAZING sapphire ring went to you!!!  You are becoming the DBL sapphire queen!
This is going to be SO killer with your earrings, your gorgeous blue eyes, and didn't you get a sapphire necklace too? Fantastic, girl!!  I swear, I'm every bit as happy as if it came to my house, is that weird? Even more so, because it is obviously where it was meant to go!

Now, about that year and 1/2 wait thing....not so digging that part.  Embarrassed  Dunno how you can stand it...don't tell me you're not already sneaking wear time?

Sorry to be late to this thread, Robin, but happy anniversary!  Sounds like you had a great day and it was you that snagged the Bronx Blue!  Good for you!  Sorry you have to wait so long though - urg!  It will certainly be worth it!

IHADP, that is sooooo sweet!   Kiss  Yes, I got a DBTY one-sapphire, two-diamond necklace and matching bezel-set earrings.  I wore them this morning, in fact, although right now, I'm wearing your former Y-Z radiants.  (They seem to enjoy going to the gym with me :-).)

Thanks, Annie, GL, and joia!

DJ, yes, having to wait is not perfect, but I knew that this ring was "the one," and I knew that my next big item wouldn't come 'round until my 40th.  So when Carathead decided to sell now, well, I didn't want it to slip through my fingers (literally!).  And I'll have something to look forward to!
