I found my way here, as so many others have, via eBay. I love to look at beautiful jewelry, and eBay certainly has lots of *pictures* of beautiful jewelry.
However, when I first saw David's listings, I knew I'd found the real deal. Pictures of the actual diamonds he stocked. Copy that made me laugh out loud. This was my kind of place.
In February 2007, I found David's website and this (then brand-new) forum. Then I saw it. I had been telling my DH since before we were married that I wanted a big sapphire ring for our tenth anniversary. However, when I saw David's Asscher-cut diamonds and halo-style rings, I knew THAT is what I needed.
So, my first DBL purchase was my 1.58 L/VVS1 Asscher in a pink and white halo. It is absolutely lovely. I wear it almost daily, and it makes me happy every single time I put it on.
Even before it arrived, however, I had made my second purchase-- a .45 FIY/I1 princess cut that David made into a pendant for my mom. It was a "bargain stone," but even so, the cut and sparkle are tremendous, and the color is truly gorgeous.
Then, I bought 1.20 RB G/H SI2 DBL ear studs secondhand from another member. They are SO awesome. I wear them several times a week....
With my DBL pear pendant that I bought this summer. It is a .90 G/I1 pear with a .19 RB above it, both bezel set.
Finally (so far!), I bought my mom a 1.02 K/I1 emerald cut, set in a WG ring with radiant cut sapphires on each side. It'll be her Christmas gift from me, my DH, and my dad. I hope she likes it... but how could she not? It is awesome. Again, this is a "bargain stone"-- and I was a little leery of buying an I1 step cut. After all, step cuts are so transparent that inclusions are often more visible than in other cuts. But I needn't have worried. The inclusions are insignificant, and the cut is so good that that's all anyone will see. And the ring itself? Beautifully made. I take it out of its box often and try it on, looking forward to Christmas morning.
I could hardly be happier with my DBL purchases. The jewelry is such excellent quality and such a great value, and David will cheerfully help you with all your needs, whether you're spending $500 or $50,000 (or more!).
