I think a double halo. One frame of white diamonds, one frame of pink diamonds.

This sort of idea.

Some great suggestions so far OMC - here's my idea:

Chameleon centre stone bezel set in either platinum or yellow gold (depends on the colourway of the diamond but I'm thinking yellow to bring out the richness of the colour).   On either side, white (or yellow) bezel set baguette diamonds, in graduating sizes and stepping down with each level so the central stone is raised above the baguettes.  Imagine a flight of steps on each side of the central diamond leading down to the shank.  I think the finished article would have a very art deco feel about it.

Good luck with whatever you choose as I'm sure it'll be a statement piece.

I like the double halo idea!!!  Not sure about pink and green, but it could work.  Here is a version I found during SDI.

Imagine the green in a double halo. Scrumptious.

I think these earrings are TDF!!!

They are GIA Fancy Green with a vivid pink halo Smiley  Each rad is a little over a carat!

OMC-I know the vivid might overpower the color of your radiant, but I loved the double halo concept.

Thanks for validating my idea DL. I rather like that. And it suits OMC's DW's style I think.

Man, do I have to do everything around here?

« Reply #35 on: July 15, 2008, 02:14:23 PM »

...So, what would you do?

I really like this ring OMC and I can definintely see it on your DW's hand. Here's what I would do:

The center stone should definitely be prong set similar to the example you showed. I would go platinum for the rest of the ring. I do like halos and bezels but this boucle style is unique.

BTW, I'd consider rose gold with pink melee if the light green faces up a true green when they are sitting  next to the pinks. Either that or green gold with yellow melee, again depending how they look against each other. Have you asked David what color melee compliments the stone the best and brings out more of the green color?

Oh, good.  We're back to the boule... I think we got lost a bit with the beautiful halos and FORGOT that OMC already mentioned in an earier post that his DW prefers the boule over the halo style.

Boule... boule...

I like the ring you've posted, DJM.  But, OMC, for the record, I might still argue for a bezel around the green diamond... (sorry, DJM  Grin).

And, I still think having some sort of theme or idea to inspire this project will help with design decisions.  dontknow

That's okay T--it's not like this is the first time we ever disagreed with each other.  Kiss

Not yet. We're in the middle of the budgeting process for next year, and I'm just about finding time to catch up with the forum, never mind thinking about serious matters such as a ring  Wink

What Trink said!  I definitely see a bezel.

Here's another possibility - mixing CS's idea of graduated baguettes with the boule design.

Excuse my horrendous drawing and even worse writing, but is this a thumbs up, down or sideways (yes, no or can anybody give me a lift out of here!)?

I think graduated baguettes would be lovely!  I can picture the center row of RB in this ring with baguettes.

Wowza!~

Amazing ideas!!

If we are going to do something like the diamond studded dome, I would say the range of sizes would be .15ct down to .01
