So, I FINALLY asked David to send me the little treasure box of diamonds that he's kept stashed for me in his office.  They arrived the other day, all together, in a lovely presentation box.

To David's credit, they are all EXACTLY as I thought they'd be except the brown cushion is a little lighter in color (which I prefer) and the K cushion is even more beautiful than I'd expected.

And, because I promised somewhere along the line that I'd keep you all in the loop, I took a photo of my little diamond treasures AND I added two pairs of sidestones that I already had here at the house.  Unfortunately, they are all under plastic, and the stones are not completely upright, especially the pinks, but you get the idea. I think it is interesting to see them all together...

R2649 1.26ct VVS2 Fancy Brown-Orange Cushion
R2619 0.90ct VVS2 K Cushion pictured with hot-pink spinel cushions (they are exquisite, but not upright in the photo)
R2449 1.17ct VVS2 OP Round Brilliant pictured with red-hot spessartite round brilliants (these have fire like diamonds)
R2619 1.01ct VS1 L, Faint Brown Oval

Before I received them, I pushed David to tell me which was his favorite.  He wouldn't bite.  I get it now... I really can't decide myself.  Each one has it's own very unique and distinct qualities.  I can't even pick my favorite TWO from the group.  It is like having children, I guess...  dontknow

Sanchica, they will all be rings set in gold and platinum.  And, it may take me another year to get them all done, I'm in no hurry.  I'll probably go ahead with the stunning RB and spessartite and the beautiful cushion wih pink spinel. I still don't know which we'll do first. I'm still undecided about the other two...

Wow, girlfriend, you have a collection TDF!  I seriously love each and every one.  I am going to have to live vicariously through you while you decided how to set them all.  What type of stones are the pinks?

That cushion is a K?

Actually, it's difficult to pick the most beautiful; I have narrowed it to the top three...

Here's another look at the K cushion and sloppily placed pink spinel pair.  The longer sides of the cushion go right to left, not top to bottom. I'm sorry, these are quickie photos with my son's little camera. The camera's  memory card is now full (and we save the cards as back-up) and I don't have another... so the stinky photos are all that I have for now.

We were posting at the same time, but I bet you thought I was going to say the spess, didn't you? (I really like those too.)

Since you gave OMC three choices...I'm going to take advantage of the offer as well...

My top three are the 2 spess and R2449.
PLEASE MAKE THAT ONE UP FIRST--I'll send you a coconut.

Dear T -

You didn't ask for my opinion but I'm offering it anyway.  After all, I'm stuck in my house for the next day, day and half waiting for the hurricane to pass!

Please, please do the 1.17ct VVS2 OP Round Brilliant with your "red-hot" spessartite round brilliants first!

I vote for the orange-brown. I'm on a quest for one that color but cut like Bunnie's asscher/cushion in the 2 ct range. I love that color!!!

What a horrible quandry to be in T. Choosing which one of your phenomonal 4 diamonds to set. Wink

If I had pixie dust and could resize this one to 8mm or larger... I'd know that I'd died and gone to heaven, I'm sure! Problem is, at ANY size, I'm in a quandry about how to set it.  First, I thought halo, like WM's gorgeous ring. But after seeing the diamond in person, I'm thinking a three-stone may actually pack more punch. Plus, three-stone rings are more my style to wear, halos can be a bit too refined for my "look" (er, that "look" would be standing in the barn with a manure fork...). But, then, I already have a three-stone with browns, although the browns are the sidestones...  BangHead
