Has anyone called dibs on GG's recent emerald/pink halo acquisition (GG had I known it was up for grabs, I would have wrestled you for it!)? If not, DIBS.

I think if I'd known too, we could have gotten into a three-way-all-girl-mudwrestling showdown. (Just think, we could charge admission, and use the funds to buy YET MORE sparklies to fight over!)

OK...Do you think this will work?  It seems a tad more reasonable than selling a kidney (which I briefly considered when I saw the 6 ct brownish yellow.)

NNNOOOO, it's mine! *wrestles*

OH Robin, you should see the oval sapphire he just got in! I am still kicking myself for not getting a picture of it! I think I was in awe and drooling! It is not as big as the sapphire CH got but the blue is just the same! The color and clarity is something to marvel at!

UUUUTTT OOOOHHH!!!  ROOOOBBBIINNN!!!!!!!

Can't wait to see it!   Cheesy

Not bl**dy fair!!!  Man, I am way too slow!  I call dibs on the sapphire asscher earrings David currently has in stock.  Basically, none of you are allowed to buy them until I have sold a kidney/won the lottery/taken up a new career that is legal here in Holland and Germany and may pay highly for certain 'specialties'...............

Help a poor canine make sense of something. I grok DIBS. But not its fullness. What on Earth does it stand for?

(pardon me for waxing lyrical there; I have just re-read Stranger in a Strange Land, by R A Heinlein)

I have found some authenticated definitions here and some unverified ones here, but apart from "Disputing of Irrational BeliefS" - which I suppose makes sense, as in "I dispute that [insert random piece of jewellery] belongs to you, since it clearly belongs to me for all eternity" followed by random growling, hissing and spitting sounds - none that matches.

Anyway, I call first DIBS - whatever it may be - on a certain three-Asscher ring David knows.
