Am glad you appreciate it - i just know it's really loved here.
One can just get lost in the depth and the colors. Then
again every diamond has it's own beauty to the one that
wears it.

Am really glad this site was found as it's nice to see a
community that really loves the colored diamonds.

Hand shot it is...  Haven't named it yet but how about Elizabeth Taylor ?
OK - OK it's a baby compared to her larger than life stone. But it's a
dark haired beauty - exotic - with a flair.  Here are a couple of shots.

Thank you for sharing in my joy.

PS - Am most definitely open to suggestions for a name.
Maybe the Elizabeth Taylor is a bit ambitious. hahahaha.

LOL you could always call her "Brandywhine", since you know we're all moaning that we want one, now!  LOL

So, tell us more about her..did you pick out or design the setting?  Also, how do you feel about imitation being the sincerest form of flattery??  Wink

Very pretty!  Can we see it from the side?  I really like the filligree in white and the little pink halo.

Hahahahahah Brandywhine that's a good one. Actually
the setting was originally created for a different stone and
when it was brought out i saw immediately it could be
modified to fit this stone quite well. Can't take credit for
designing it but it's a one of a kind piece. The pink diamonds
surrounding i felt highlight this stones color quite well. It
had an enclosed basket to begin with but i had the jeweler
open it up as this stone doesn't need any help to shine.
Another pink stone was added at the tip and the bottom
prong was built up to securely hold the stone. Am quite
happy with the design. As far as imitation being the sincerest
form of flattery would be nice to see it modified just a bit so
we could each have a unique piece to enjoy. Will get a photo
of the side as it has the micropave on the shank as well as on
the top.  i love that it's not a flimsy light weight setting and
that it definitely is different from what has been seen elsewhere.
Then again you can never go wrong with a halo setting as that
is what i had on my ring before this one.

Have earrings that work but of course am always on the lookout
for just the right stones to be able to make a truly matching pair
of earrings out of. Eventually they will show up. At the moment
am wearing a pair of small brown rounds with micro pave set diamonds
in white and pink gold. They are great for everyday.

Honestly speaking:
Am not thrilled with the way the setting was made when looking
from the side and underneath as it could have been really designed
with panache. The top looks quite fine but would have liked to have
seen a filigree underneath to finish well the space where the setting
is raised, to give it a fully polished ending. They took a flat cut out
metal that was constructed and had the micro pave diamonds placed.
This looks quite fine from the top but if it had been my design would
have done more to give it a high end polish that could have a better
Wow factor for those concerned with the over all esthetics of design.

Otherwise its just a micro pave shank and that is ok but again it could
have been designed and made a bit better in my opinion. Maybe one
day will be willing to take it off my finger long enough to have these
changes made but in this moment am just loving the diamond and
want to have it close by to be enjoyed fully. The basic idea design of
the ring is great but just needs to have some better finishing touches
to bring it to Wowser.

Wow, how stunning a ring that is.  I think she deserves her own zip code.  How did you come to find the stone?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH  may have to apply for a zip code for her she would like that ...
Had someone i know start putting out the word in New York and after the holidays
was connected with and flew up to see a few stones. Lucky huh.

There was a Champagne beauty but saw this one and it was all over but the shouting. Someone
did have a gorgeous 10 Carat piece that's base color was Orange. That makes the price go
ballistic and Absolutely fabulous but at a cost of $290,000 (gulp) had to pass on it.  So am
thrilled with this one and will be enjoying it for years to come.

There is brown and then there are the secondary colors that can really amp them up.
This one in some lights flashes a bit of pink as well but mostly orange. Have to say that
the DBL site has some lovely lovely diamonds just waiting for the right homes.

It's a bit difficult to find the larger stones so when DBL gets one in Grab It. Here just
happened to be in the right place at the right time to find and grab this one. More than
likely DBL has the contacts to find just what you are looking for. It's a good time to seek
out the browns if you enjoy this type before the market gets to high on them.

Am enjoying them as they are good for dress up or dress down. geni

My heart.  Oh my heart.  I am in awe.  How WONDERFUL.

I like Elizabeth as a name for your ring.  Very regal.  It's breathtaking enough on it's own that it doesn't even NEED the Taylor.

Is it an everyday ring?  I don't think I could ever take it off if I owned anything like that.

Why Yes it IS my everyday ring. Haven't gotten tired of looking at it yet
and i doubt i will. Thank you to all for the lovely comments. This has been
a long time in coming and thought i could never enjoy something as much
as a Canary Diamond but am really loving the Cognac. Who knew

Am changing my wardrobe to match the ring. hahahahah
Now browns - pinks and oranges dominate the color
scheme.

Hahahahaha Mike Myers. Schewing.

Have been so enjoying the forum here.  Pickle

I've done the same...it's the only responsible thing to do, if you don't want yours or anybody else's eyes to hurt from the color clashes...  chestbump
