I forgot that I hadn't taken any pictures of these babies for the forum.  Treated myself.  They're .50 ct each F VS2.

I've got a raspberry colored shirt on, and the diamonds sure are picking up that color.

They actually are my "go to" piece of jewelry.  Actually, they're in all the time unless I'm wearing a different color gold. They DO have a wonderful sparkle and are well cut.  They each have their own GIA certificate and each diamond is inscribed with the report number.  It took a 60X loupe to be able to read the numbers on the girdles.

They're screwbacks, which I love, for safety's sake.  I'd be heartbroken if I lost one.  I'm always reminding one of my colleagues at work that one of her diamond studs is hanging loose - hers are pushbacks.

They're the perfect size on my earlobes, too.  Good coverage without looking gaudy.

Thanks for the compliments.

They are lovely!  I have some studs that I wear on a daily basis myself... though they are my 3-5th holes.  I love a classic pair of studs though.  Yours are very nice looking.  I love the pink reflection - my blue and purple camera both do the same LOL

I did want to say that for those worried about pushbacks I have had very very few issues with mine.  If you check them now and then and make sure they are tightened properly you won't lose these any quicker than screw backs.  I have not lost any push backs with normal use...  only when the ear had some sort of "trauma" and the earring was yanked out.  I'm a klutz... not sure you want to ask how I did that Wink

In my personal experience pushbacks are not unsafe at all if they are well made.  In fact I was considering replacing all mine shortly since I did lose 2 to "trauma" and one to cleaning and stepping on the pushback.  So each pair has one original pushback and one replacement (not all gold either which is why I want them replaced).  I've worn one of these pair well over a decade now and have no issues, another pair for about 10 years and the last is only a handful of years old.

Again just wanted to add in case anyone was worried about the pushbacks.  I find them very safe... particularly the big and beautifully made ones DBL uses Smiley

Super Pair DAF!!!!

Congrats!

It's an interesting debate, screw versus friction.
I'm squarely in the friction camp.
I reason that the metal- be it gold or platinum- is not is too soft for threading.
So they're fairly easy to strip.
Plus, it's harder to get them to exactly the correct tension as compared to a friction back.
That said, DW always uses screw backs for studs she really values.......

It's VERY important to remember how little I know sultan

About 10-15% of people buying do request for us to change our standard friction backs to screw back.

I agree with you there, DBL pushbacks are wonderful.  My FLY cushions, set by David, have those wonderful pushbacks on them and yes, they are very secure.  Pushbacks manufactured by others, a different story.

I'm a definite friction gal.  I lost a screwback stud last winter. bummed me out!  A .75 solitaire unscrewed itself while I was skiing.  I had the one reset in a lovely 18k yellow gold Lucida setting, and had David match the remaining one, also set as Friction backed.  I love them now, but don't ski in them anymore.

I find screwbacks both itchy and uncomfortable to sleep in.

Leave it to DJM to lower the tone...

I don't care for screwbacks. The threading will wear away, but until then, if you catch it on something, it won't give. I'd rather lose a stud than an earlobe!

I lost a pushback about two weeks ago.  I don't know if screwbacks would have helped, but since I don't take my earrings off, there would have been less of a chance of stripping them.  Next time I'm going to try the screwback.  Hey David, can I get one screwback earring, princess cut, around 0.50 cts.?
