Oh I couldn`t bear to sell something like this !
I`d be dreaming and trying to imagine the history to it. The smiles the ring gave, the life of the woman who originally owned it, the love behind it and the man who gave it.
Priceless !

I know for a fact there was no history with this ring.   The lady who owned it never married, and never had children.  She has no family. That is why my father-in-law was named executor of her estate.   She was 87 when she died.   They were just friends.   My father in law is 81.    Kinda sad, to not have Any family to leave your estate too.  Embarrassed

I love this piece!!  I am a little partial to older cuts, but I say keep it!! Even if it is a boob ring, it's quite stunning! Smiley

I would keep it too! That is a wonderful and unique piece! Did they give a guess to what the age might be on it!? I really want some vintage pieces in my collection, so that is why I would keep it! Plus the cuts is the second reason I would keep it!

So the old lady kept a keepsake from her past.  Her long lost love who was going to marry her and gave her the ring to keep until the day she could show the world she was his........etc etc.  Of course it has a history.
All it needs is a little imagination (or a lot in this case).

There is not doubt that there is some "story" behind the ring.   I did not know the lady and my FIL would not ask about the history of the ring.   He probably recv'd it prior to her passing.   At that point, she was not of sound mind.     Undecided    Funny though,  I received a secong appraisal today that was done in 2000.  The new appraisal amount is $2,810.     Everything else remains the same.

EMJ... I traded in my old mount for the new mount.  My mom paid the difference Smiley    Anyhow..........  I go back and forth as to whether to keep it or not.   I just have so many rings as it is, I can't wear the ones that I got!

I think the tribe has spoken Cheesy    Lol.........I was thinking that I should keep one of the stones and have it mounted in a diamond halo pendant.   Problem is...........there are no funds........... Undecided

You know, I was just thinking that the ring would make a lovely pendant just as it is.  I mean, without the finger part, but the same 'face'.  Does that make any sense?  I just think it's a lovely piece exactly how it is~

Who wants to wear them all.  Most of mine are in a place where they can be taken out and given loving looks every now and again.

She - actually a former boss, from a very horrible job I am grateful not to have any longer! I could quite believe that woman has no history. I suspect she was hatched by aliens!! The man I work for now I like a lot - he has a good eye for diamonds!

Ronda, I really, really hope you decide to keep the ring, because it looks very pretty on your hand. Alternatively, what about a remount of the stones into a pendant or something that you would maybe wear more often? I love these old cuts and it seems such a shame to part with such nice examples. I think they would look rather fine set with a velvety blue pear cut sapphire, maybe? On a fine plat chain, kinda DBTY style?

Oh, sorry - that's my wish list, not yours! Grin I got carried away!

Oh I bet you get chills down your spine everytime you think of that former boss...and    Not the kind of chills that sparklies give us!
Oh your wish list sounds lovely, however, I already have a sapphire pendant that has a bit of the DBTY going on.      I was trying to sell that one too as it doesn't get the stage presence it soooo deserves. Undecided

Oh yes, I remember it - another thing I liked a lot. I think we must have quite similar tastes.

I keep coming back to look at this lovely ring. If you are going to sell it elsewhere, um, could you let us know?? Or does that defeat the purpose of not having classifieds? Ok, I guess it does! Grin
