I really like the contemporary feel of this ring. Beautifully done.
Is it me or does the handshot make it look like a completely different ring? It looks so different from a distance--- like looking at a painting.
Truly a work of art PtyMom.
I noticed that as well about the hand shot! The ring truly is a work of art and I know you will just love wearing it for a very long time to come!!! You´re both very right. The ring does look very different when it´s on the hand and not in a super macro shot. Yellow gold is very difficult to photgraph, the high polish creates a lot of light reflection and the rounded edges of the ring cause a lot of refraction. Some photos come out almost warped. I would say the bezel is very delicate looking. I haven´t been able to caputre this in the pictures. The split shank, from a distance, doesn´t really look like a split shank at all. It looks rather, more like a wide solid band that tapers down the sides. What you see from a distance, is a lot of yellow. It´s very understated. it doesn´t scream diamond at all. When the light is low the color of the diamond blends in with the surrounding yellow. Both diamond and metal are sparkly but you´d have to be at arms length to really see what you´re looking at. When the sun is bright, the diamond turns a bright glorious yellow and the gold just pales in comparison. It really, is a beautiful, beautiful piece. I think it´s perfect. I don´t think it´s for everyone but it´s certainly a great match for me. My husband says it looks like a Queen´s ring He has certainly admired it a lot for someone who doesn´t care much for jewelry!
