I finally got my ring today! I´m so in love with my double bezel! My fancy light yellow cushion is a smoldering little ball of sun!

I took some pictures but couldn´t get any sun shots today. it was only sunny while I was on the highway. Shooting pictures right then and there seemed a little reckless... but on second thought!

Thanks everyone! i´m really enjoying it  Grin

I wore it out to dinner last night and one of my good friends, a guy who thinks he knows everything (and to be honest, pretty much does) asked me what kind of stone it was. When I told him it was a yellow diamond, he said there was no such thing. That there was only one, which was huge and housed at a museum.  He must´ve gotten home to do his research because this morning he texted me "Nice Canary!"

Funny how most people have never heard of colored diamonds. I guess that makes us special.  lol

It really does - the bezels make the colour POP! It's the perfect showcase for your gorgeous stone.

Y'know, if I could make a bezel like that, I would die happy. That ring is a work of art. I love how it looks so fluid, almost like liquid gold. Such a gorgeous design, and beautifully executed.

I really like the contemporary feel of this ring. Beautifully done.

Is it me or does the handshot make it look like a completely different ring? It looks so different from a distance--- like looking at a painting.

Truly a work of art PtyMom.

You´re both very right. The ring does look very different when it´s on the hand and not in a super macro shot. Yellow gold is very difficult to photgraph, the high polish creates a lot of light reflection and the rounded edges of the ring cause a lot of refraction. Some photos come out almost warped. I would say the bezel is very delicate looking. I haven´t been able to caputre this in the pictures. The split shank, from a distance, doesn´t really look like a split shank at all. It looks rather, more like a wide solid band that tapers down the sides. What you see from a distance, is a lot of yellow. It´s very understated. it doesn´t scream diamond at all. When the light is low the color of the diamond blends in with the surrounding yellow. Both diamond and metal are sparkly but you´d have to be at arms length to really see what you´re looking at.  When the sun is bright, the diamond turns a bright glorious yellow and the gold just pales in comparison.

It really, is a beautiful, beautiful piece. I think it´s perfect. I don´t think it´s for everyone but it´s certainly a great match for me. My husband says it looks like a Queen´s ring  Grin He has certainly admired it a lot for someone who doesn´t care much for jewelry!

Even my bezel with the "pointy" corners is really hard to capture.  The gold is just so darn shiny that my camera can never capture it quite right.

I've also noticed that at times my diamond blends into the color of the gold (low light) and it is a really neat look when it does that.

I only looked at the split shank two tone ring while I was in NYC, so I haven't seen exactly what you are speaking of with all the gold in the split shank, but I can definitely imagine.

I'm a bezel convert for sure.  Makes me thrilled to know my next ring will be a bezel (though highly different look) as well.

I couldn't wait to get it.  I was going to be good, but the more we discussed it, the more we decided not to wait.  I know we couldn't recreate this ring at a later time for such a good price.

So as soon as it is sized up properly I'll get it Grin

My son is actually very excited.  While he liked the uber flower ring more, this was a close 2nd for him.  Even over pink hearts (which he thought he liked best)!  I can't wait to see his face when he sees it.

Of course I better leave it in the box until his nap time otherwise I won't get photos of it on me w/o little finger prints all over.  I know he'll want to try it on too!
