You may remember that I mentioned this in passing in another thread....

Well, DH came home with our camera tonight, so here are some pics. Huge thanks to David for doing this!

First one (of many) is the obligatory flower shot. The rose is la Riene Victoire, by David Austin (after Diamonds and DH, I love roses!)

Feel free to tune out if this gets old!

Jen

With my eternity band. Won't wear it like this, in case it scratches, but pretty!

Ok, pretty much done, but I had to take about 2 million shots to get a few that I could post.

Not exactly. I have many, many more of much the same. Plus a few blurred shots of my thumb, dog, floor etc.
I can post more tomorrow. I'll try to pick the ones where it is recognisable as a diamond ring.

So beautiful!  I love how the diamond is showcased in this setting, and the rose gold just makes it really unique.
LOVE that second rose picture...the sparkle reflecting on the band is magical.  Wonderful pics!
Great job with this re-do!!! gogirl5

I also think it is so nice with your band!  Seems like someone should invent something that would allow you to wear your band with it without scratching the gold...kind of like a moleskin blister protector, without the icky sticky on the ring...  Guess that would have to be a seriously custom deal, to protect but not to show and detract.

So Mrs. M, I'm curious, does the rose gold seem to affect the "color" of the diamond? Colorwise, does the stone look different to you than it did before? icon_scratch

Funny, Ihaveadiamondproblem, I was thinking about an "inter-ring scratch pad" idea just the other day.  I had a WG ER and WB custom made, with a lot of open and detail work on the sides of each.  I wore them 24/7 and rubbed them both to smithereens. Making a brand-new ring featuring the EC diamond from the smooshed ER is one of my future projects.  Roll Eyes

Thanks everyone!
Diamondproblem, that is a great idea - I would love a band to go with this, but it's so smooth and sleek and I don't want to hurt it - some kind of guard is what's needed.

Trinkette, the rose gold has changed the character of the diamond completely. It has flashes of coloured fire that I never saw before (it was in a pendant, but I did spend a lot of time staring at it in mirrors, shop window reflections etc, or just by taking it off to watch it in different light!) In the right lighting, it can take on a little pink tint, although it would be a stretch of imagination to describe it as a pink stone! It looks a lot whiter and seems to have a lot more fire.

I was a bit worried that the quality of the stone wouldn't be up to much (NOT a DBL stone, I hasten to add) and that it might bother me in a ring - could not have been more wrong. It's like a different diamond - I swear David has given me a 10x upgrade without telling me LOL!

I bought it on impulse because it spoke to me, in a store in the UK, for hundreds rather than thousands of pounds, every nerve ending in my body screaming "don't do it." I am so glad I did!

DH really loves it, which was a surprise since he prefers white metals. He is raving about DBL at the moment, because one of his coworkers has a similar setting "but hers is all lumpy and asymmetrical and the diamond looks a bit funny- she should get it looked at, or she should have got it from DBL"  I can only hope that he thought that quietly to himself and didn't share it with her, but he has a horrible habit of blurting these things out!

Interesting how your once pendant now looks tenfolds better as a ring! Could it have been the setting that was compromising the "bling" factor??? I too wish all metals wouldn't scratch... grrrrrrrr

It was in a bezel, which I normally like very much, but it seemed to choke the life out of this particular stone.

Before and afters.

(PS am kidding about the 10x upgrade, before anyone rushes out to buy random maul diamonds to send in! Grin)

eta ooops, you got one of the blurry shots by mistsake, and I can't get rid of it! Sorry.

If you want, you can delete the fuzzy pic by going to edit and un checking that attachment...

I can't imagine a bezel reducing the sparkle factor on any piece... Was the back covered up w/ metal (on the pendant)

That's the funny thing - bezels don't tend to do that and I really love the look, but the stone looks much happier now for some reason. The metal went right down the side (don't think I have a side shot) so although there wasn't any metal behind the stone, the bezel part actually lay flat on the skin. No one ever noticed it as a pendant, but quite a few people have commented on it as a ring - though mostly to admire the pink gold, I think!

No bow tie that I've seen. (And I have spent a loooong time looking at this stone!) I quite like a bit of a bow tie, seems to give contrast and definition sometimes, but it can be too much. Comparing my little pear earrings to my DBL pear just makes me want to upgrade!  Evil
