I know I should be resting my eyes since I just had my lasik surgery done 5 days ago but I couldn't resist sharing this new set that my jeweller just delivered to me today.

One of my hobbies is to surf on e-bay and I usually don't spot much bargains for me (and shipping can be ridiculously expensive)...but one day...I spotted this Edwardian set available for sale. However, it was only for the setting with no diamonds. Hey...no problem...I have my trusted jeweller to save the day. So I went ahead to bid and was the only bidder. Finally, I won it for $50.75 including shipping to Singapore.

I gave the set to my jeweller and voila...here it is...

E-ring centre RB is 0.16ct while the side stones are 2 pointers. W-ring stones are 1.5 points each.

I love it and it's my only YG set (14K) and it really looks much bigger than it is...

Hope you like it as much as me!

What a great deal!!

And congrats on the Lasik!! I would love to have that done!!!

I love it DiaDiva, it is gorgeous, and it is so good to get a bargain like that.  You donīt have any problems with Customs when shipping to Singapore?
As long as I buy things in the EU I am ok but I have certainly had some trouble with things from US.  Darn it.
I hope you are resting your eyes.  Congratulations on your Lasik.

Hi Snooper, thanks. I wish.... my ring size is 5.5, not that tiny after all....

You really should check out lasik if your prescription is high. It feels quite empowering not to search for my glasses or contact lenses. According to the doctor, my vision improves daily over the course of week and I've noticed that it's really true.

Before my surgery, I was petrified as I needed to be awake during the entire 15 minute surgery (had both eyes done at the same time) but there was NO PAIN! It actually hurts way more at the dentist. After my surgery, I went to sleep and woke up the next day. There was hardly any discomfort. If any, it felt more like when you wear your contacts inside out but I was OK by the next morning. Anyway, I reckon my surgeon does at least 10 surgeries a day - Singapore has one of the world's highest incidence of myopia so our surgeons are definitely well practiced. Hahaha...

Thanks, DJ! I'm really pleased with it. Can't wait to wear it to work tomorrow. It's a public holiday and I just dropped my husband off at the train station - he's on his way to Kelantan (Malaysia) for an adventure holiday - not my kind of of a holiday. Hahaha...for that, he's got his military buddies!

Thanks, LCole, Ace, Catmom, Trinkette, Big Red, Madora, Michi!

My eyes are much better now. They improve everyday and I'm so happy that I don't need glasses or contacts anymore. I've been short-sighted since I was 9 so this is a big deal for me.

Yes, Michi....I need more rings for my "empty" ring box angel...to stock it up, I also bought a wedding band from e-bay circa 1930s for $57 plus tomorrow, my jeweller is bringing me my oval/half moon ring so watch this space  Wink

We get that programme extreme makeover and it shows the Lasik treatment and results but one little question.  Is it really painless?
It must be wonderful to be able to see well at last.

Gorgeous diadiva!  And, I am very jealous of your lasik!  Have been thinking about it myself, but am still too chicken.  I cannot wait to see that oval you were hinting at Smiley

Joia, KK, Ronda, thanks. I'm really happy with this set and the Orange Blossom w-ring that I bought. Will post pictures this weekend. I should be getting my oval. My jeweller is supposed to come at lunch time.

Lasik really is painless. Prior to my surgery, I was told by some friends that there might be some slight discomfort but there would definitely be NO PAIN. I didn't experience any discomfort during the procedure, and definitely did not experience pain of any kind. The only slight discomfort was after the procedure when I had to wear contacts (no prescription) overnight to keep the cornea flap in place but these get removed the next day. In fact, an eyelash in your eye would hurt way more. I'm definitely an advocate. It feels great to wake up in the morning and be able to see the alarm clock by your bedside. Something I haven't been able to do since I was 9!

Don't mean to hijack your ring thread, Maria, but I've been thinking about the Lasix, too.  I don't mind wearing glasses to work, but contacts just aren't as comfortable as they used to be, and they don't correct my astigmatism, so I don't see 20/20 with them.

Sooo... I'd love to do Lasix, but I am too chicken, too, at least for now!

And-- can it correct astigmatism?  What about in a few years, when I need reading glasses?

Hi Robin,
No problem. I'm so happy with Lasik that I can't stop talking about it. It was the topic of conversation with my co-worker just now as well since he had his done 7 years ago and he loves it.

Wavefront Lasik corrects astigmatism and that's what I had. It's more expensive than conventional lasik (S$2,600 for 2 eyes vs S$3,700) but it's worth the money because I don't see starbursts or halos at night. In addition, my right eye was undercorrected by 75 degrees so I can hold off the need for reading glasses. But Lasik also corrects long-sightedness so when that time comes, I may consider another round of lasik.

Hey...you can come for a holiday in Singapore and get lasik done here. Our surgeons have an incredible amount of practice since most Singaporeans (Chinese at least) are short-sighted! If you google on lasik in Singapore, you'll be overwhelmed with choice.

Hope this helps. PM me if you need more info. I have loads of friends/colleagues who have done lasik.

That was good to know.  In the programmes I have seen the person just gets up and sees.  Good idea Robin, Singapore is a great place to visit and you will be able to see everything before you leave.  The orchid garden, the jewellery.......Congratulations Maria, you must be really over the moon being able to see well.
