Pardon me for being prejudiced, WM, but Stitch is probably the most intelligent cat I've ever met. He's been the house social director since he was a kitten, and sometimes I've had as many as 14 indoor felines and 4 humans in the same living space. More than one visitor has remarked how like a 3 year old child he is. Now, at seven, he is the eldest of my remaining 5, and still the mediator. (not to mention Mama's best boy.) He and his sissy, Lilo, were rescued from a cardboard box at a local grocery back in Texas.
Second after Stitch is Rocco Taco aka Silly Pink Cat. He is a Hurricane Katrina survivor and a flame point Siamese. Looking at him, it's easy to believe that on finding his forever home he vowed he'd never go hungry again.
I also have a young f2 Savannah that is Queen of Everything. Just ask her. Her name is Adamma Sade, and she may be the runt of her litter but she's still quite large compared to normal domestic cats. Another gift from Scott. Sometimes he gets things spot on. She likes to promenade down the local street of shops in her harness and leash. Quite a hit with the local merchants, she is. These are the three currently living in SoCal with us.
I have 2 additional babies still back in Texas. Our new landlord could not be convinced that 5 cats in 950 sq ft apartment would be OK; so I left Kai, who would be most comfortable in his own known world, and his best friend, Rexie, back home. A friend of mine is both house and cat-sitting for me.
The two back in Texas are both Mainely Coones rescues. Sexy Rexie is gorgeous brown tabby and a big lovey bear. Kai, well bless him, is a huge orange and white style Mainely Coone, but is(was) feral and not well socialized. Epitomizes the term 'scaredy-cat'. They live with their Auntie Rissa and her Miss Bickers for now. I guess one might consider them all my 'jewels', too.
Your pardon for maundering on and on. I've been a crazy cat lady for too many years.
