I’m engaged – and I’ve finally got a DBL ring.  It’s a cracker!  My darling proposed at home, and it was very quiet and special.  Home is really important to both of us, so it was just perfect.
 
I got my ring size wrong (who does that!) so it had to go back for a resize.  It felt like it was away for months – and of course it was nothing even close to that.  But we decided to wait to tell people about the engagement until we got the ring back.

Jen – you know how helpful you were – the support you gave me was invaluable. I can’t say enough nice things about how good you were to me when we knew it had to go back.

My darling picked it by himself, and I know Jen made things so much easier for him.  I don’t know the stats about it, other than it is absolutely incredible. I’m not opposed to sharing, I just simply haven’t looked up the GIA, because once it arrived, I found it just didn’t matter what the bit of paper said – it’s stunning. Enough said.  (but if David or Jen want to share…that’s fine, I know how keen I always am to see the numbers on other rings! And I will have to know eventually).

The first day I wore it to work a woman I didn’t know approached me in the train station, saying she could see the ring from across the platform, and just had to come and tell me how beautiful it was.  It is blindingly beautiful – and this was in an underground station.   In the sun, it makes my eyes water.

I’m working on getting some decent photos – we’ve had a few overcast days and I’ve been working silly long hours at work recently.  Here is one I took before it we sent it back to be resized.

Thanks so much David for making this incredible thing – it’s an exquisite work of art that I get to wear every day.

Can you tell us something more about the ring, please? I cannot place the centre from anything David has shown here on the forum.

It was a custom ring, made with a centre stone we tracked down to match Rubymu and her fiancé's preferences. I don't have all the specs in front of me, but I do remember that the one thing they both wanted was strong blue fluorescence, in a fantastic emerald cut. It's set in a hand made platinum ring with beautiful claws and lovely crisp white baguettes.

It's something of a red-carpet ring, I'd say. (I absolutely love it.)

it's a stunner and I bet it catches the light in a most magnificent way...I'd have problems concentrating around a ring like that.  I'd be playing Pollyanna and throwing rainbows all over the darned place!
