David just sent me some pics of a pair of hoops he made for me.

I'm so excited to get these, can't begin to explain how much I love them.

These gorgeous things are a gift from David and I  want to say a huge thank you, I'm so thrilled to be receiving them and very touched by David's generosity in giving them to me.

I am soooooooooo happy for you Jen!  Just such great news!  I know how long you have been wanting a pair of diamond hoops (I believe they were a shared pre- or post-natal craving) and I am just thrilled that these are headed your way!  You will see how hard it is to ever take them off!  Cannot wait for your earshots!  Yay!!!

GracefulLion is absolutely right. I remember cradling a newborn in one arm and using the other hand to type endless emails to her about the sort of hoops we were both looking for. We got the perfect ones!

You know - both my daughter and my son had a tendency to grab. But an "ouch" followed by a firm "no, you are hurting mummy if you do that" sorted it out at 18 months.

Judah (now 16 months) not only grabbed on the first time I wore mine, but promptly pulled down and twisted them side to side before I could release his grasp.  But my old kick boxing moves came back to me and I deftly learned to duck and block at the first sign he was watching them again.  I knew self-defense would come in handy one day...

Ha! I haven't had a problem with earrings being grabbed yet, but then I wear studs and I have long hair (which is intrisically interesting to pull, you get the funny "owwww" noise just from that).

I'm prepared to take the risk. I will learn kick boxing if necessary... Grin
