That ruby is sooooooooooo red...gosh, I'd love to see it on my hand.   

Incredibly gorgeous! That is a very nice pear - I love how fat it looks (if that's a good word to describe it?). I also love your ruby. It is such a gorgeous red that it makes me want to upgrade my own ruby ring (mine is deep red in shade but the sunlight makes it much more pink).

I know!  She's such a fat little thing!  I love everything about her.  I can't stop staring at the stone, it's so mesmerizing.  I no longer have my original engagement ring, and this was my permanent replacement.  Until I decided what I wanted I played with simulants to decide if I wanted a three stone, a solitaire, a fancy shape, a RB, a halo, gems, diamonds etc.  I have been looking at sims for a few years now trying to decide and didn't remember just how much more personality and depth diamonds have.  It's just a totally different ball game.  I've had some really high quality pieces that were set with well cut sims but nothing held a candle to this baby.

And I know I gushed on the other thread, but I am just in awe of DBL's work.  It's just sheer perfection through and through.  I've had a lot of jewelry pass through my hands, and had my hands on many pieces that weren't mine and I can almost always find minor flaws.  They don't necessarily detract from the piece, but they're usually there.  I just can't find ANYTHING on either one of these rings that falls short in any way.  All the details are incredible.  The bead set bezel on the ruby (I'm making up terms now, I realize that) is breathtaking.  The millgraining on the diamond ring is awe inspiring.

I'm looking for a band to go with her and haven't had any luck at all.  So I'm just playing to try and find what I want (engraved?  curved?  pave?  who knows?)  Anyway I was having my earrings cleaned and the store was barren so we played a wee bit.  It's not the look I'm going for, but there was some serious finger coverage!

that's the plan.  I don't want to drive the poor man mad though. 

I have a feeling that what I want hasn't been seen yet.  once I see it I'll know and then I'll be able to jump!
