A client of ours (and a really great guy) recently had David make a band to go with his SO's band. The original was in sterling silver, so that's what's been done here. As far as I'm aware this is the first piece we've done in silver.

He very kindly gave me permission to post a few of his fantastic photos here, and I wanted to share this band because it's just so beautifully done.  The semi bezel is yellow gold.

Now, I know this is a man's band, but I think I could pull it off, and I really do want one, with a little brownish pink... One of these days!

Here's a hand shot, and a view of the really elegant low profile.

Wow, I love this ring!  It is absolutely perfect!  I think it makes for a great gent's ring.

I know my son would love this too.  This is the style he seems to be drawn to when it comes to the ring for me.  I love it and think it is well suites for both men and women alike!  So yeah you could sport it too!

The stone was the client's own, but you know how it works round here - if it's made of carbon and it sparkles, David can find it for you... Wink

I think you could pull it off too Cheesy

The ring is actually back with David getting a face lift, so when I get it back I'll post some more pictures. I really love the profile of it. It's very architectural without being too fussy as sometimes architects themselves can be (no offense to any architects Wink )

I'm sure as some of you know, it's been total breeze working with DBL so I won't gush here about it  Wink other places will not be spared!  Evil

GIAGirl- They have much better stones in their inventory than the one I had set. I've seen them... they are AMAZING.

Would you believe that it's an I1? Yup! It has a few surface reaching inclusions and the bench was able to set it, and perfectly by the way. The gold in the bezel really enhances the color of the stone too. Way more warmth then before. If it's ok I'll post a picture of it unset to show how much richer and warmer the gold makes it. .84ct 5.5x5.45

Hey, mr.farmer!  That is one beautiful ring you've had made!  Thanks for allowing Miz M to post some pix, and then for joining in, yourself.  We're always happy to make the acquaintance of ANYBODY that loves diamonds and/or DBL.   Grin

As a sidebar, best wishes to you and your SO for a long and happy life together!

That's a gorgeous ring!  I also think it would be great for ladies.  I had a semi-bezel blue box etoile ring and I loved it.  I would love to have something with the same look again one day.

You know I am always down to wear a man's ring!  I wish someone would pave one of those boogers and get this party started.   Cool

YES! This is the one I was trying to describe. I figured a picture was worth a thousand words, and I'm glad you like it. I love it.

Mr Farmer, great to see you here! I'm laughing at your fussy architects line...could not be more true. I married an architect and as I type this (at ten past eight on a Sunday morning here) he's agonising over the mm spacing between two shelves in a bedroom. They couldn't be fixed yesterday until he got it 'all figured out' and I have a feeling it will be a long time before that happens. We're talking about a difference below the threshold of human perception ... Fussy? I'll say!

I think some carre cuts in the profile (flanking the bezel) on both sides would be really unexpected and neat too. Or just pave the profile and leave the top of the shank bare. It would still read as a "man's ring" from the top but have the extra bling as a secret Cheesy

Neat ideas. I love carre cuts, so that's an interesting bit of food for thought... Wink

That's just ridiculous! I LOVE it even more with the satin finish. Wouldn't have thought you could improve on it, but you just did.

I think there's more contrast between the silver and gold now - because they were both highly polished, the light sort of bounced off them both and it was harder to see how crisp the contrast and the lines between the metals are.

BTW, as a slight threadjack, your ring inspired me to do something I've been wanting to do for years now - I've enrolled on a silversmithing course. I can learn to a) produce fine jewelry in silver (and platinum) or b) that I have no talent for this and produce odd, amorphous blobs of metal... Grin

I'll third it all!  I am super jealous of this ring.  A very perfect style for every day life.

Jen I can't wait to hear what you think of the class.

Remarkable visual change with that satin finish added, mr. farmer.

Jen, we'll be looking forward to your first attempts.  Surely it won't be half so bad as the dentist masquerading as a jeweller!
