There has been some pretty cool fluorescence shots around these parts lately, and I think this cool diamond characteristic deserves a thread!

I've been holding out on you guys a little bit since my ring has some pretty funky fluorescence, and I've never posted pictures of it.

It doesn't have a GIA report, so I don't know what the level of fluorescence is technically called, but here it is!

WOW! Very cool!! I've been meaning to take more fluor pics, I'll do that this weekend! But the ones I have are of my former 1.04 radiant, and my Holy Sh*t EC ring (which looks blue, but there is no flur on the sides but a TINNNNNNNNNNNNNY bit on the center even though it was noted as having none)

I feel like this thread will channel aliens!!!  vibes

Great pictures, Annie1. I love flourescence. It looks like one of the small round diamonds is flourescent, also.

Very cool!  Annie I love the first one!

What do you need for this, a black light?  Neither of my yellows has fluor, and I have no idea about my RB, so I have never really thought about doing this.

Snoop, your last one if probably the obly kind of UFO I would be happy to find at my door!

annie It looks like a blue fluor to me. Those are super cool. We need a shot of that greenish yellow pear in this thread! Snoop, yours has flashes of fluor, too. Do you guys ever notice it without the black light?

I do thing the fluor makes it hard to take a photo that expresses what it looks like in person.

My black light is a keychain which David graciously sent me last year.  And lol ladykemma, speaking of pet urine, it DID show "Snooper" spots!!!!!!  Angry

I don't notice the fluor w/o using the blacklight, even with my previous ring I didn't notice it even though it had "med flur".  The grocery store made my inviting UFO ring really yellow!!! I could have stayed in there all day!

I soooo need to get one of these lights!  I always ask the guy in the B&M store near my office to let me look at my stuff under his light, microscope etc. He's lovely. He gives me little tutorials on diamonds and coloured stones, picking different themes every month. I like to chat about this stuff, but he is a genuine enthusiast.

Annie, your gorgeous ring looks incredible under that light! Snooper, your shots are really cool!

This thread caught my attention.  My son has a black light, so I looked at my wedding set under it and some of the pave's glowed bight blue.  I wish my camera wasn't on the fritz right now Cry... maybe I'll be able to post some pictures later... I hope so.

Thanks for looking it up David Smiley  It wasn't written in the eBay ad, and I never thought to ask.

Thanks for adding in a couple of your shots!

Ready for orange/yellow fluor?

My yellow half eternity band has 2 that are blue fluor (faint) but I tried for 20 min to capture an ORANGE fluor! It's wicked!!!

ETA: It's orange in real life, no way blue!!!
