In another thread, Snooper had asked about my earrings and pendants so I thought I'd start a thread about my earrings...my other passion....

Here are some diamond earrings:

1) Marquise earrings - I bought the marquise/sapphire ring by impulse to match this.

2) 0.88 ctw stud earrings which I wear with a jacket

3) Hoop earrings in three sizes, 2 pairs of claw-set and 1 pave pair

4) Princess with baguette and RB earrings

5) Pseudo Tiffany Voile dangly earrings

DiaDiva, your collection never ceases to AMAZE me! I love all your rings....and now earrings too!

Those princess cuts with the baguettes around are so interesting! I've never seen anything like em. They're just beautiful!!

I love your marquise "flower" earrings too......I got married wearing earrings (except mine dangled) & a necklace like that. But mine were just CZ's.

Thanks for posting pics!

Thanks, everyone.

WM, the marquise are one of my favourites. They're really very versatile and seem to go with everything.

On a separate but sort of related note...while I was posting these pictures just before lunch, I felt my office building sway, thought I was hallucinating since it was close to lunch time and then it swayed again. It turned out to be tremours from a 6.3 quake in Sumatra. We evacuated the building and then came back after lunch. Then we felt the quake again around 2pm (Singapore time)...my company closed the office but fool that I am, I went for a conference call at my client's office - where they also felt the tremours but did not send everyone home and they're always harping about safety but when it counts, they continue working because they were told the building was safe. Well, Singapore is not in an earthquake zone so I don't think our buildings are constructed to withstand any quakes. Was then stuck from 3-8pm with a call with India. On hindsight, I'm really quite upset with the client and felt that I should have just left and gone home! I'm feel like such an idiot for staying.

Fortunately for me, we didn't feel any more tremours after the second roung but so far some 70 people were killed in the quake, so all in all, a sobering day and sad day.

It's very sobering to hear that DiaDiva.....makes you really appreciate life & your loved ones! I'm so glad to hear you're ok!!!

I've experienced 2 small earthquakes. One in HS and the other when I was on a study abroad trip in Mexico. I was not hurt, but they were very scary indeed!!

Sounds like you need to have a chat with your boss about workplace safety!

I agree...incidents like that remind me of how blessed I am in my life and family. I think my client really needs to sort out their workplace safety. The biggest irony is that they start off each meeting talking about safety and when reality beckons, they ignore it.

Well...I'm lucky nothing happened but we need to pray/help those people in Indonesia. They were badly hit by the tsunami, bombings, earthquakes and now another earthquake.

Gosh that's awful DiaDiva.  I'm glad you are okay.  I think in situations like that, you need put your foot down and do what feels right.  I often think back to 9-11 when so many people went back to work after being told their tower was safe.

I experienced one earthquake in my life and to say I freaked out would be an understatement.  Standing in the jewellers I worked for with a colleague, everything starts rumbling, the lights and pictures on the wall are shaking violently and I'm standing there all confused.  I'm thinking that's one massive truck going by.  After a few seconds, I look at my co-worker and I go, "Ian?  What is that?"  He looks me straight in the face and, almost grinning, says, "That would be an earthquake!"  Well I FREAKED!  I started screaming.  I'm talking, hear me at the other end of the mall screaming.  I dragged Ian by both forearms under a doorway and I had him so wigged out by this point that he was screaming back at me.  I think I cut off his circulation in both arms.

The next day I arrived in the store to see Ian under the doorway with the entire staff huddled round as he told them of my meltdown........I didn't live it down for quite some time!

Anyway, I hope you have no more aftershocks and I will certainly offer up some words for those affected.

Great collection!  I just love all of your beautful pieces!

In addition I was in a couple of very small earthquakes when I was living in the Netherlands!  It really is a scary feeling when the ground moves like that!  Glad to hear that you were okay.  But, I agree that Indonesia is having a rough go of it lately!

Just feels like Indonesia can't cop a break lately......thankfully you were ok DiaD, I can't imagine how scary it would be to feel an earthquake - even the aftershocks!

Now on to happier topics - your earrings are beautiful!!  I really like those briolettes and the lovely marquise flower earrings - soo sweet!

I apologize as I did not even read about the earthquake tremours you experienced.   I guess I got caught up in the "ear" candy! Undecided

That must have been really scary.  It seems like with an earthquake, there really is no safe haven.   I sure hope that they don't have any more.   So sad that life can be gone in an instant.  Cry  Keep yourself safe!!~Ronda

Ummm I'll take them all!! I wish!!! I really love the hoops as I want a pair like that some day!!

And again your marquise earrings were once an earring project that I had in mind until I bought yellow studs... Might have to revisit that project again:)

Thanks for sharing!!! Gosh, your collection is just phenomenal!!!

Now about that quake? Gosh that has to be scary!!! I'm glad that you're ok, and I hope that those who were hit directly are ok:(

Love those earring jackets...I am looking for something like that...if anybody finds them...send a link my way!

As for earthquakes, I grew up in L.A., so you kind of get used to them.  Now that I live in the mid-west, I am terrified of tornadoes...

Maria! OMG!  I thought your ring collection was stunning, but these are equally gorgeous!  I especially love the marquise earrings and the hoops.  Just  wow!

Sorry you had to endure an earthquake, but I'm glad you got through it safely.  They're awful.  I live in Southern California and lived through the Northridge earthquake.  Very scary indeed.  Our house was very damaged, but luckily we were not hurt.  Earthquake, tornados, hurricanes, floods - they're all awful.

Thanks for your concern, everyone, I'm OK...we hardly if ever experience any tremours in Singapore since we're so well-sheltered so that was a bit of a shock especially when one is on the 36th floor. Everything has gone back to normal today but the folks in Sumatra...that's another story.

Back to our earring candy...here are some closer shots of 3 pairs of my pearl earrings.

A pair of "mismatched" pink tourmaline earrings that convert into 2 pendants.

Some coloured stone earrings consisting primarily of amethyst, citrine and blue topaz - they are shot with the matching pendants.

I have some more earrings that I haven't photographed yet...that's something to do this weekend...

DJ, I'm a "sick" girl...I think there's a thread somewhere on this forum about what else do you collect beyond sparklies...notice that I never posted there? My focus is totally on the sparklies!  Evil
