Thanks Mikla!

Advice?  Only one bit: buy from David!   Grin  No, seriously, he gets some browns that will knock your socks off.  My asscher is an orangey brown and it flashes some stunning colors - it is not flat at all.  I often see rainbows in it which you just wouldn't expect.  Many of the browns David has at the moment have orange in them and I can't recommend that color combo highly enough.

Not to be redundant here...but the Fancy deep browns with orange in them flash this really cool orangey/pink---almost a coral color but more rose in it. Seriously-- my FAVORITE color to look at. Not one of the pictures on this site come close to the colors in these stones. You definitely have to see one in person.

Wow!  This will be fun.

Actually, as to the first question, the size of the diamonds inside the lever backs, I agree with DJs first choice.  10 pointers would be about right, if we went with 20 pointers, I think they would be too much and overshadow the cushions.

OMG DJ!  I nearly  faintthud  when I saw your brown asscher.  In all honesty, I own browns but am not really a fan.  HOWEVER, you've converted me.  I adore your ring.  There's not many times when I look at something and have complete envy but this is one of those moments.

In fact I have a sneaking suspicion that we have very similar taste because I just happen to also love your Rubellite and the radiant (haven't seen that before).

I think your pendant idea is gorgeous and setting it on the angle will make it a real statement piece.  I have a princess cut yellow diamond set into a similar pendant and I love the way it hangs and looks so I think you're going to be ultra delighted!  The earrings will make a gorgeous set as well.

I'm off to raid a bank now so that I can get a brown asscher from David ..... now, where's me balaclava!?

So I have a new project in the works!  Many of you will know that I bought this little baby to put into a pendant:

What you don't know is that I also bought these to make matching earrings:

Here's my design that I just sent to David.  Now we get to wait it out.......

What size diamonds do you think I should put on the leverbacks above the halos?  I was thinking maybe 10pters.  Whaddya think?

I LOVE the drawings here folks.
This type of visualization is rare. Obvious to me, is that DJ has an amazing skill.

It does bring up a valuable point.  When people request a custom-made job the best way to get it right is for them to provide us with a photo of exactly what it is they want.
In many cases, that photo comes from our website.  However, we have also re-created many rings based on photos from websites of others.

Knowing what the client is looking for is an essential element in our ability to satisfy people- and DJ has made that much easier with her detailed drawings.

Now all we have to do is... get the proper parts for the lever backs, decide what size diamonds to use in the bezels, design the parts for the halos, select the diamonds for the bezels, and all the little diamonds that are going in the halos, make sure everything is set perfectly...and,whew- hope it exceeds expectations!

Kiss  Thanks David!  Did I mention I got an 'A' in my tech drawing class?!   Wink

I'm set on the 10pointers for the leverbacks.  If you say those work then that's good enough for me!   icon_salut  It really is amazing how much work goes into each and every piece.   notworthy

Hi Guys- sorry these have taken so long. DJ has been oh so understanding!

In fact, we're well along the way to completion.
We've picked the bezel stones for the earrings.
The two of those weight .19cts- they are considered "ten pointers" or 10 per carat.
Of course they have a great cut!
We have graded them G color SI1 clarity.
Now we're busy picking out the "melee"

For the earrings we'll need 40 diamonds- 1.3mm

The pendant will take 20 of the same size diamonds......

They are all done...........but David hasn't got pictures yet.  He did tell me that they were 'incredible'.  He has promised to take pics tomorrow before he mails them out.  In the meantime, I figured I would be kind enough to let you all suffer along with me.   Grin
