Is there a web page for the custom designs DBL has done for people or is it all in the Forum Photo Gallery? Is the gallery for any jewelry or only DBL?

I don't think it is "all" in any one place. Many of it are on the forum (for example, all those I commissioned are in "The Coyote's Den" thread), and David will take photos on request of forum members - with the owner's permission - and post them, but there isn't one single thread dedicated to that. In some cases, the owner may withheld permission, or no-one thinks about asking (or even knows that the piece is being done), and I don't believe David takes photos of everything that is produced.

On the Gallery - good question. I don't know. Given that we are allowed (and even encouraged) to post nice and fugly images of jewellery we own or don't own, I would imagine that at the moment the Gallery follows the same rules, but given the proliferation of image management sites (Picasa, Photobucket, ImageShack, ...) I think its purpose may well be revisited as you suggest: the place to go to see images of DBL pieces.

Forgot to say two things:

1. Of course there's plenty of people other than David that post photos of their DBL jewels here (and in some other places). Much of this (but again not all) is in the "Show Off Your Jewels" section.

2. The Sold section on DBL's site is a pretty large collection of DBL items (411 as of now). Not many are "custom" in the sense of being made on some customer's specific design, but many are custom as in David's (and Sandra's) ideas being made for specific stones, often resulting in  unique designs.

david

What a timely topic!  Just yesterday I was thinking that it would be nice if David did have a gallery of custom work he has completed on the DBL website.  Of course, displayed with permission granted.  I would assume that many of the people who have custom work done aren't forum members who can't wait to display their latest acquisitions.

BTW, OMC, I often look back at the Coyote's Den thread to admire yours and the missus' collection.  One piece, in fact, will be the inspiration for my next item, which I think I will do next year.   pear2

Already, I think this type of custom page is something David may have in the works for the site. I know that I've been after him to do this for years. Actually, more than once, I, as well as others here, have called-out custom pieces showcased here on CDI that we wish the world-at-large could see for inspiration as well as for a full understanding of what DBL is capable of creating. There are many beautiful pieces we see here at CDI that never make it to the DBL site. It is a shame to let these unique jewelry images slip into oblivion... Just not enough hours in a DBL day, I am sure!
