Late yesterday, long after I'd chewed all my nails and cuticles to shreds, the big brown truck finally arrived.  yahoo Seems like I'd been waiting forever.   Since like JANUARY - when I lost a diamond stud while skiing.   a082 Bawling

Tore through the 3 layers of brown packaging like Miss Qat with a fresh rat.  easterbunny

and there they were - all the new DBL accoutrement to a new piece.  Just beautiful - if you haven't had the joy of seeing it in person yet.  (Trink - you are a killer designer).
   BB likes it, too.

I'll get better pictures and an earshot when I get my hair brushed, hopefully later today lol

These 'little' fellows are M colored, with a very pale yellow tint, @1.4cttw.  I swear I didn't recognize either one as my old diamond.  I almost called David to make sure he sent the right ones - they look like full carat studs - never happened in the old setting.  And the glitter factor was never like this.  Never did they look so large and sparkly.  Never.

They are set in 18k gold Lucida-style baskets with double claw prongs.  Just TDF, IMO. The yellow gold really enhances the tint - almost like an S-T, unset.  Even my poor old eyes can see it, and I am in lurve!  tongue3 Heart

Now, I have to admit, I pushed David to send my gizmos as soon as they got to the office - matter of fact, I caught him like 5 minutes before the brown truck was due to arrive for pickup.  They came in the same box, but...erm....aren't gizmos.  Absorbable (adorable in family patois), but not quite what the doctor ordered.

I love it!  The cat and the bag match (who let the cat out of the bag? - ouch!).   Grin

Seriously, David, love the packaging.  Ah2bqat, your earrings turned out to be a fabulous match and double claws are a very elegant touch.  Looking forward to the ear shots.  Nicely done!!

I'll have to wait until DH is speaking to me again before there can be an earshot.    I'll drop some detail in another thread.  I could use some good advice.

Thank you for all the complements, but they should all go to Sandra.  She's the one that selected the new diamond and oversaw this new, modified Lucida setting. I think it is just divine!

A few more pix - a few are of the surprise.

I think you can see the tint a little in this closeup.

Surprise!

I think they're lovely, as is - but they'll be back as gizmos...hopefully soon!

I love these close up shots!  Very very pretty earrings!

I'm curious what were the gizmos supposed to be like?  They are pretty as is, but I totally understand not getting what you want.

Dangling from the studs, rather than having studs on their own.

Love them Ah2!  The setting for the studs are very nice...as for the "gizmos", are you looking for a lever back to dangle the yellow diamond from?  I love pears for earrings...are these white or faint light brown?  They're so pretty and what a way to finish off the piece!   glasses9

What happened?  It was an oops, plain and simple.  You guys know how busy everyone at DBL has been, and the problems with being understaffed on site.  Thankfully, it was me, and not a first-time buyer.  My first 6 purchases were perfection - both for custom work and stone replacements.  I'm not going to wig out over a miscommunication, now.

Well, as soon as D told me the gizmos were back in the office, I begged him to ship them out.  (and whined and pleaded, too)   Unfortunately, I called just a few minutes before the brown truck was due to make a pickup.  They are so long (aprox 2 inches), that DBL doesn't have fancy a box for them; so they shipped in the original little bags.  You'd never know there was a problem just looking at the pieces parts in the little bags.

     Chains - check,
6 colored princess cuts - check,
     2 white pears (1 I /1 J color BTW) - check.

Looks good, right?  I would have passed them too, on a casual eyeball.

Remember, I started this do-over back in February or March.  It's been a long time since the original emails went out with the design pix.

Also, I'm not one of those folks that are in contact every week for an update.  I might check in once a month or so.  I figure they'll be done when they're done.  It's not like they're an e-ring or birthday gift, or any piece with a required due date.

And then, it isn't always easy to do the design QC when you have to check back thru a brazilian emails, and do it in 5 minutes or less.  So, to make me happy, they got boxed and shipped immediately, rather than take the time to be sure, for sure and miss the pickup.

So they are traveling back to get updated.  I feel bad for the guys at the factory.  I know how much I hate to get a spec wrong, and that's just writing code, not deconstructing/reconstructing metal work.

Here's the original sketch, and they work just like OMC said - they fit on the stud's post.

I think they are phenomenal as earrings; it's just I want to have 5 diamond dangles with big starters and pear finishes.  I'm blown out by how yellow the top princesses are, like lemon sorbet.  I love the little pink accents on top of the pears, as well.  NOM  cat

woohoo

FINALLY.  GIZMOS have arrived!  Not quite according to plan; but still lovely, delicate, and sparkley!   ura1

I missed the big brown truck on Thursday.   tantrum  I left for half an hour - yep, gone for only 30 minutes to buy tomatoes at the farmers' market, maybe a mile away.  Ten to ten thirty.  I didn't even ride my bike like I normally would.   Of course, that's when they came by.  That was Thursday.

Friday, Brown finally showed up at 6:30 pm.  AFTER HOURS!  GRRRRRRR!  DH even chased down two other trucks while he was out and about during the day; but neither was the ONE.  BangHead  Sweet man.  Sometimes he just amazes me, sometimes I just want to bean him with a cast iron pan.  Friday was an 'I Heart you' sort of day.  Tempted

DSD,my little fashionista, helped me with the pictures.  I haven't had them off since.   Grin  Of course, i only get my computer while she is at school, so things are a bit behind schedule.

Sorry abut the delay.  DSD got home from school, and y'all know what happens then!

First, pix by David.  I made Rob promise to show me what they looked like before they were sent out.  I love how the attachment for the stud first echos the princess cuts, and internally gives the Rock Diamond logo.

Here are a few on the ear and on my studs that David redid in the spring.

and a couple more...
