It isn't a DBL piece, but I admit, I had to break my budget.

My favorite local jeweller and his wife are closing their shop on 2cd Street, here  in Long Beach, and OH! y'all would love their stock!  It's very unique and vari-coloured - sometimes diamonds with tsavorite garnets, sometimes pink sapphires, or platinum plated drusy with colored diamonds, sometimes irradiated diamonds - all sorts of interesting combinations.  He designs a lot of the pieces and builds them.  She does exquisite cloisonne work.  I am so sorry to see them go!  They primp my rings all the time, just because.

I'd never bought anything there; 2cd Street is quite pricey.   But at 70% off, how could I resist?  I don't have a really good photo, because it's hard to take pictures 1 handed when it's on the other hand.   Roll Eyes  But for less the $150 I got a lapis bead bracelet with diamond spacers which I just adore.  There are 4 diamond spacers and a lovely round catch in 14k yellow gold on the underside.   The beads are light enough/heavy enough (?) to keep the catch on the underside, which I really like.
Anyway, this is a bit over exposed - They are much closer to navy than cerulean.  The spacers look like little stars since they are shaped around the round beads, and are in yellow gold.  They really show beautifully, especially in dim light.   I'm gonna have to try again when it isn't so sunny. Grin

I also bought a cresent moon ( I'm a Cancer) in white gold pavee'd in white diamonds, but I had to take it back.  It is so delicate, I broke the chain before I even got it out of the box!  They are repairing it for me, so next week I'll have a shot of it, too.  Another item at 70% off , and therefore under $150!  How can I resist?

Beautiful bracelet! You really suit bloooo stuff, don't you!

I love the idea of the diamond spacers, I haven't seen anything like that before.

Sorry to hear of another business closing down though, especially what sounds like a really great local jeweller. So sad.

Enjoy your lovely new bracelet, and your crescent moon when it comes back! I take it that's a necklace? Looking forward to seeing pics.

who knew?  GG if you tell me you're a red head, I may just have to make a trip back east to meet you.  A Cancer and a Georgia girl. Evil

ok, So here's the pendant.  I swear I can't see the diamonds without a magnifying glass, but it's just so darned cute!

and here's another attempt to show the diamond spacers on the bracelet.  I'm just not having a good time with my camera these days, or maybe it's just my eyes are really getting bad. tantrum2

Nice lapis (apart from the spacers, I believe from your description this photo is a lot closer to the "real" colour, isn't it?). And at that price, it's a real steal, spacers or not.

Thanks, OMC!  hello  Yes, that photo is much closer to the the real color.  I haven't taken it off since I walked out of the store in it - except to take some shots in the box.  (Much easier than trying to photograph my own wrist.)  tard

Thanks, D.   cat  I think you'd do a much more lovely crescent and with diamonds I could actually see; but at that price, I just couldn't not.  Total impulse buy.  And heaven knows when I'll ever wear it.  How can I take my yellow gold cat off?  Can't.

Thanks, Annie!  hello  I love lapis, too; but have never bought any for myself before.

One of my favorite pieces was a lapis and opal bead necklace that I bought for my eldest DN.  She's a blooo kinda girl, too.  Wink  They were blue-green opals, and the beads weren't round but quite irregular.  And just like this bracelet, the opals were occasional rather than regular.   Lapis is such a rich blooo, it lends itself well to lighter or brighter colored accents.  IMO. Now you know why I avoid D's sapphires.  I'd be caught forever - snared by blooos!  freakout

Wonderful lapis bracelet. If it were mine, I wouldn't take it off either (lapis is one of my favorites). Gives me some ideas for restringing my plain lapis necklace...

Hummm, diamonds with tsavorite, you say...? Good thing I can't see any more goodies, or, I'd have to REALLY cry (so, what else is new?).

I am not a red head....but I have been in the past.   I would post a picture but it was my awkward teen years and that would be bad for everyone's eyes.
I keep trying to make a diamond our birthstone and no one will listen to me!   Since my company downsized 900 people (including me) I could come dress shopping with you.  HA!  (I am now laughing about it...but it has taken me a while.)

OH, GG!  I am so sorry to hear you've been run over by our stupid steamroller economy!  tamm That's just horrid.  I hope something comes up for you soon that will be more fun, and more interesting than your prior position.  But dont' come this far west!  Seems like half the folks I know here have been laid off or had the company shut down; and NONE of them can find another position.  Worse yet, none of them will move to a better job market, either.

Thanks, Mikla.  I've been thinking about turning it into a pin since it doesn't have a bale, just a little hoop from one edge to the other.  Some sort of little pin, like a tietack using that tall .5 ct RBC currently in D's hands, with the crescent as some sort of gizmo so it can dangle free on a lapel.  But that would be after the little orange, and then the hoops, and then the search for an olive...

DL, I'm surprised you've been able to take your eyes off Pink Lady long enough to keep up with the chatter, but thanks!

and T - I wish you could have seen this ring.  It was a really wicked swirly heart shape with the tsavorites paveed in the interior with the heart edged in white diamonds that swirled around to cut into the center of the heart.  Very 3-D.  It wasn't one of Dennis's pieces, but an Italian designer whom I can't remember now.  Killer piece.
