I love Citizen Eco-Drive watches, too.  They are the only watch I wear. I now have 3.  I especially like the ones with mother-of-pearl faces.  I've never had one malfunction, and now some of mine are quite a few years old.  I always store them in an open dish so they get the light they need; people often make the mistake of storing them in a closed jewelry box & then complain about them stopping.  I think they are the closest thing to perpetual motion machines.  I love that I don't have to worry about batteries. I would like to see Citizen further expand the number of styles.

You did the same thing, no?  That's the same way I got started too.  I'll bet he regrets it now, though.   Grin

I love how much character those opals have!  I have always wanted one but I have never found one that I really love.

I would make a bracelet our of all of those, except I would probably bang them around to much so maybe a necklace of some sorts?  I would bezel each one and put them in size order as best as possible and have a little detail going on with the bezel.  Maybe some kind of swirl pattern to mimic the patterns in the opals themselves?

ETA: That shot of all of them together reminds me of a solar system!  So cool!

Hmmm.  I like the idea of using them in bezels, which might help keep them safe, but as many of these stones could qualify as polished rough, I'm thinking rather than an opals by the yard style, using irregular and semi polished beads of lapis, malachite, rock crystal and quartz, or whatever floats your boat, might make for a truly breathtaking necklace using the opals as focal points.  I'll bet your sister could come up wikth some good ideas, Allison.  She does lovely bead work, although the beads I'm thinking of would be significantly larger than the rubies she used.

nice ideas ah2bqat, that would be an intense necklace.  not quite my style though, i'm more for understated necklaces.  maybe a broach though, with some of the opals and some other kinds of stones...
geena, i don't know how i missed your post the first time, that's so cool you like citizen eco-drive watches too.  i just have the one, and it's my everyday, so i don't have to worry about storing mine. my dad had one and he set his on the windowsill everyday, unfortunately he lives in new mexico and i think he burned his out with the super high altitude sun.

These are really neat. Thank you for taking the time to photograph and share! I especially like the Orange Baby Gumdrop and Side-View of a Hamburger (I think that's your Stripey).

I can see a beautiful pendant, perhaps made from one, two or three of these, with the stones bezeled in gold and hanging from a round, rigid gold necklace (like a choker).
