I was a little bored tonight so I got out my jewelry box and started playing around with everything - nothing better than getting stuck into your sparklies, right?!  Anyway, I loaded up my hand and took some pics - nothing flash as I wasn't prepared to snap any shots tonight.  Just having fun!

Anyone else feel like posting some fun shots tonight?  Go on: you know you want to!

The top ring on your middle finger. Is it a fire opal or an orange sapphire DJ ?

OMG!  I forgot all about her!  I KNEW something was missing!  Technically, I am not allowed to wear her yet so she is sitting in her box upstairs rather than in my jewelry box - darn it!  I'll have to take more pics tomorrow.  Well spotted PL - my true diamond sister!   Kiss

LOL Dj I love that story. So typical of kids eh ?
I asked about the ring because when I was in SF I bought a lovely orange sapphire ring and matching studs. David has some studs of similar colour at the moment.
You certainly have a beautiful ring collection.

Did you know Liz Taylor sold the infamous Burton/Taylor diamond to buy a hospital in Africa ? I reckon I`d get a doll`s house for mine but at least I could sleep easy knowing there`s a Barbie doll out there somewhere with a roof over it`s head !

Funny DJ, I did take a handshot of the diamond rings today before the light faded, if I have time tomorrow, I'll take one of the colored stones, silver, and class rings...I'll add what I have in a bit..Could you tell me the stories on the bottom ring on your pinky finger, and the multicolored stone ring on your middle?

Sure EMJ.  Love that pic girlfriend!  Thank you!  I am in need of eye candy today!

The small gold pinky ring was the first ring of real quality that I ever bought.  It's a very solid signet ring with my initials (before I got married).  It's really solid for a signet ring (4g) - there's no way in heck you could bend it.  It's probably a half size too big for me these days so it languishes in my jewelry box.  I really should get that fixed.

The multi-stone ring was the mother's ring that I bought for my Mum back in 1997.  I had it made up at a small family jewellers in Sierra Vista, AZ.  I didn't want a design that looked cheap and so I picked out this one.  It's heavier than the other designs I saw and cleaner in design.  She only had myself and my sister so I added a garnet for her, a green tourmaline for her marriage to my Dad in May (couldn't get an Emerald baguette), a peridot for my sister and a blue zircon for me.  I remember her wearing it sometimes.  The 3 stone garnet was the one I gave her for Mother's day one year when I was 18.  She hardly ever took that ring off.

You know, if she were still here, I would have spoilt her with some serious diamonds and I would bet money she'd still be wearing the garnet!  She was a really great lady.

DJ What great stories! Beautiful jewelry is always a pleasure, but I love hearing the stories as well...and that is the best looking mother's ring that I have seen. Will you ever put a stone back into the empty mount?

Thanks EMJ!  Yes, I will.  That was my original wedding set and I have to say, I am missing wearing the band very much.  I will probably buy another diamond ring to wear with it at some point.  The empty solitaire setting needs to be detached from the band and I am going to have something put in there to give to my daughter.  Just haven't decided what yet.  So many little "jewelry needs"!

That yellow gold ring above your marquise and the 2 bands?  Have we seen that one before?  I don't remember it.  It looks old - and I LOVE old!

Oh Lordy!  Wanna hear something funny?  I just put my pear halo (my original ER stone) next to my original band and it sits PERFECTLY FLUSH!  I don't even mind the color difference!  Brilliant!  Need to get the ER mount removed and then I am set!  WOOT!

....CH...where are yours? Oh, and did you ever wear the marquise band with your Danhov?

The yellow gold is modern, early 1990s, the white gold on the pinky is from 1915..funny thing, I spent about $100 on the pinky ring...and in the course of ten years its needed the prongs rebuilt and the shank replaced...cost of repairs? $100...oh well, good for another 90 years...

OH GOOD!!!!!!! Humm, what is your daughter's birthstone btw?

Exactly!  You'll never have to touch it again, EMJ!

My daughter's birthstone......diamond.  My husband swears he was set up.  The summer we were trying to get pregnant I told him that we needed to be especially busy in July.  He asked why and I say because then he/she will be born in April so I can have more excuses to buy diamonds.  He said he wasn't going to come near me in July at all.  Obviously, something didn't work in that plan......
