Hi - I have a quick question!  I logging in earlier this afternoon and had 40+ "unread posts"  and got through about 10 or so and when I logged back-in tonight to go through the rest -   Sad  all the ones I did not get to were GONE - I only had 3-which were from the ones I went through earlier.  Is there a way to "keep" the other ones for the "next log-in?"  I am assuming this is why I miss SOOOOOOO many "new posts!!!!!!!" Just checking Wink   webmistress david DJ

Just noticed it is "Unread Posts Since you last logged in!"  Any way to make it JUST "Unread Posts"?   EMOAYtextmoan  Now it makes sense that the rest were "gone" as they were not unread "since I last logged in!"  N1oops03HL2 I just never got to read them!

If you click twice on the "Unread Posts" button, you should get all unread posts (since you clicked "Mark Read") regardless of latest login time.

Don't try it with babies. My son did not like it at all.  Grin

I never click anything "Mark Read" so this isn't really clear to me.  I read messages and the system knows whether I have read them or not.  What am I missing?

Nothing. The first time you click "Unread Posts", the query returns all the unread posts since you last logged in (which in itself is a pretty mysterious description, since the system probably looks at when you last had activity on the forum - reading or writing - rather than logging in, which I assume most of us leave permanently on). The second time, the query returns all the unread posts on the forum, regardless of whether they are "recent" or not.

Well, there's recent posts and unread posts at the top. If you read them logged out and logged back in, you'd see the new ones.

If you want to see all the new ones for the day, just click

I understand that WM - I was just saying that sometimes I don't get to read ALL of the UNREAD Posts when I log in.  So when I log back in  - the remaining unread ones are gone - even if I click it 2 times like someone suggested. For example, I logged in last on the 25th and so my UNREAD Posts only go back to the 25th - and I had about 20+ left to read when I logged out on the 25th but they are all gone.  No biggie - just tough trying to keep up Wink

I never click 'unread posts' or 'recent posts' to keep up with threads - Ihave found that I will take a post out of context or miss the gist/humor in the rest of the thread.  I tend to just go to each board and click on the 'new' link in the title of each of the threads that I am interested in.  It takes me right to all the posts I haven't read and I can read through the whole conversation and comprehend and enjoy the whole dialogue.  It doesn't take much to keep on top of it.  I know when I have read everything as I see the orange hearts next to each board.  When something is new there, it's says 'new' instead.  That might be a better way for you to keep up Elizabeth.
