PHEW... THANK GOD.... I think some pyrannoia has rubbed off on me....     It is so good to know that I am not banned!

...me thinks you're a little shell-shocked Ronda... Undecided

Yes, I am!  I woke up in the middle of the night last night worrying what I was going to see next on that site.  I am not going to lie, it makes my stomach churn...

Thanks again David for your wonderful message.    I sure hope that I can remain neutral and have fun.  Isn't that is what it is all about?   WE should all be having fun sharing and enjoying our jewelry!   So let's keep on  git smileyparty  this joint!!!

Your browser has lost the stylesheet. Close it and retry. You might want to find the cache and clear it. It happens to me with Firefox sometimes. It freaked me out the first time.

Poor WM I hope that you are better soon.  I always hated dentists until I found my present one.  He told me at my first visit his Motto is "Don´t extract and never hurt" that is exactly what I wanted to hear.  For the first time in my life I go quite cheerfully to my dentist, the dread has been taken away forever.  So far he hasn´t got a yellow diamond but I am sure he will have a few soon, if you can go by the consulting fees.  Anyway money well spent.
I am pleased to hear that none of us are banned David.  I am sure we are going to be all good CDI´s, send nasty pms to each other ...never.

I'll have to say my dentist is very good, very patient. Due to my jaw having a row of titanium bolts and some muscles missing, I can't open my mouth very wide. So she has a narrow space in which to work. To add to her woes, the tooth was way in the back. It took her three hours plus. She had to hand file some of it because they simply could not get one of the instruments in there.

I have to tell you guys. I got logged out somehow recently and thought I was banned!

I guess I might be exaggerating on the banned thing. I think it was just a moment of panic that I'd forgotten my password.

WM, please, do NOT go fixing things yet until you're better! But I did just now notice that one of my posts in the cushion earring thread is missing that I posed about 1 hour ago...

snooper- I actually don't think that is a forum issue. I suspect it's an isp problem.

WM, hope your dental woes are behind you! Sounds major, hope you're on the mend!

My dentist brings in an anaesthetist who sedates me before the dental stuff starts. It's a neat arrangement because I have no memory of the treatment and just a lovely, floaty feeling during it. (And one day, I'm hoping he'll hit a vein first try!)

I'm not ever going to say I'd condone recreational drug use, but I will say I go to the dentist a whole lot more than I maybe need to! Grin

Sorry! Ask him to lay on a line of GHB or rohypnol. You'll love it, I swear! Grin

Naughty, naughty...  but better at the dentist than slipped in a drink, I suppose.  Embarrassed
Both drugs have a rather nasty reputation for abuse (rohypnol isn't legal for use in the US, AFAIK).

Is this what they use for sedation dentistry?  I was always curious, as it's being heavily promoted here at the moment.

I'll stick to a couple of belts of good rum.  Wink

Yup Cem
A stiff brandy before visiting the dentist is about as far as I`d go.
I settle for the regular injection into the gum but so far I haven`t had any major dental work so I suppose I`d maybe opt for total anaesthesia if I had to.
I haven`t a clue what my dentist uses for this, I`ve never asked but out of curiosity I`ll find out on Thursday. It would be interesting to know.

My guy uses laughing gas which seems to be a nice compromise.
You're not totally unconscious, but you really don;t care what they are doing.
And you can drive yourself home.....

That's what they use Gemelli. Anaesthetist pumps it in, dentist works real fast! Grin

Last time I went, they were chatting about a recent dental negligence case while they were working. They'd forgotten the name of the case, so I helpfully supplied it, with some more details of the ruling. I have no memory of this, but DH says he's never seen a dentist look scared of the patient before.

DH always comes with me, because otherwise I would just keep walking past the dentist and pretend that I'd been. Once, I had to go for an emergency appointment and my then boss came with me instead. He still has nightmare flashbacks apparently. Poor man found it all a bit too traumatic. It always takes a while to find my veins and he passed out on watching the third attempt. Grin

Laughing gas sounds nice! Quite jolly. I wonder if I could try that too?

(You may have guessed, but I have quite some dental phobia!)

Jen

ETA Awestruck, you now have to go to a hospital for a full anaesthetic for dental work. Generally not NHS either (they don't have the time or inclination to deal with wimps like me). Be prepared to remortgage your house if you want to go down that route, unless you have very comprehensive insurance which covers elective surgery.

Oh knew I should have pushed one of my sons to be a dental surgeon. I could be enjoying a huge discount. Umm actually I think I`ll retract that wish, I`ve just had visions of my sons seeking revenge on Mom`s mouth !

LOL! I'm sure they'd play nice! Grin

Dentists do scare me though. Not sure I could cope with having one in the family.
