Can I start this topic? If not, just remove as needed. <smiles>

I just thought maybe we could group any member suggestions in one place for contemplation down the road??

But I do have a suggestion:

Can you make the font on a quoted portion a big larger? It's sooooo teensy that it's really hard to read what was quoted.

Actually, you read my mind. Thanks for starting this.

I actually hunted that down in the last style sheet and finally found it and made it larger. I'll try to find it again. I made the forum type bigger than default.

I have been clicking the box to be notified when a new post is made, but that does not seem to happen?  Are supposed to get an email?  That would be great!

Just have to say that this forum is so easy to use!  I love it!

Go up top to Profile. You will then go to your profile. On the left is a menu of links. I think you click the e-mail and notification one. Then you make your choices there.

I think once that is activated, you will get an e-mail when you subscribe. If not, reply here and I'll see if there's something I need to check off in admin.

OK, I tried it earlier today but then never got an email saying I have subscribed, and no notifications.

I must say, Webmistress, that I really like the font you use on the posts.  At the end of the day, my old eyes are so tired!  It is nice and big...thanks...from the over 40 set!

I'll look into it. Hmmmm.

And thank you. I think the font on forums and websites is insanely small.

Post here and let's see if I get notification. It will help me troubleshoot.

Got it. BUT it landed in my junk e--mail. So check that. If you're still having issues, I'll send you a screen shot of my settings in profile and we'll work from there.

There is nothing in my spam folder, but it is definitely possible that AOL is blocking the emails.  How can I figure that out?  If that is the case, there is nothing I can do, right?

Ahhh, AOL. It is very possible. I'm not sure if you can or can't fix that. They may be able to help but it might be a lot like trying to contact microsoft. If they have a help line you might call that.

First, I'll take a screen shot of my setup anyway just to make sure and e-mail it to you.

Hey Webgal, every time I log into this site it takes me to a white (almost blank) screen that says,

Precondition Failed

The precondition on the request for the URL /index.php evaluated to false.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apache/1.3.34 Server at coloreddiamond.info Port 80

It does this at both my home & work computers. I just hit the back arrow, back to your site & then I'm logged in ok.

Kind of weird though.

Has it always been that way? Or is this just in the last couple of days?

What browser do you use?

Never mind. I see it's IE7. That browser has been pretty buggy.

Amy, I get the same message on our home PC and the laptop.  Back page and it's fine.  We use Explorer if that helps, Flash.

It does. It's clearly another issue with IE7 from what I've gathered thus far. I don't know if there is a solution or not. I'm looking, though.

If you can check the stay logged in function at home, I don't think you'll have that issue. I wish I could download IE7 but I don't have the right service pack and it keeps blocking the install.

Okay, I added something to a geek file in geek language and it suppose to resolve the issue. It's the only known cure thus far so see if that works.

It's actually not a forum issue it's an "apache handler" issue with IE7. The new browser (IE7) added a new security feature that is causing issues (to simplify language). Fortunately the forum code blocks the attempt by IE7 to add a security code that would make it impossible to log in and render the forum unusable by some with that browser.

That's why you get the flashing screen and can get back to the forum. The flash is the block by this forum to save itself basically. I think there is a way to disable this "security feature". It's unnecessary but I don't know what it is. Yet.

Haven't gotten to new smilies yet. Geez, other stuff keeps bumping that down the list.

Does that mean it's working fine for you now?
