DH:  "Why didn't you tell me about it?"
Me:  "Because I knew I shouldn't have bought it!"

Pretty much same conversation we had on Wednesday night, just exchange the parts. I hid a pair of earrings and a bracelet watch in her pillowcase. I felt a bit like the Queen Mother (no, NOT in that sense) in "The princess and the pea".

Hi guys!
Thankfully, we've been heinously busy.  For example, the pendant that Mikla asked about.  It's a beautiful pavé pendant in white gold.  It is at the factory right now.  We picked from a parcel of Sapphires's in the picture... a gorgeous blue Stone.  We should have it finished next week.

We do have a couple amazing things to show you today.  For example:

Shown above is a 3.12ct fancy brownish yellow emerald cut

Below is the parcel of sapphires I was referring to

How about setting the 3.12 EC in something similar to this?

Nice Ring!!
Although I personally love the ida of the design, we have not made one like this.
Our concerns have to do with the manufacture, and durability.
From a manufacturing standpoint, the diamonds need to be cut to fit. On the photo I can see some gaps that we would never accept- especially on the top lefthand corner.

In term of durability, the design is pretty delicate.

Still I love the concept.....

How would that em cut look set like diamondluvr's ring with the baguettes stepping down. I love that ring. That color really makes the concentric part pop. Gorgeous. I think it's probably too big for the step cut pears. Besides, I think those step cut pears might look good with a cushion center.

How would the yellow/brown diamond look in this setting?

What a phenomenal ring!  Wow!  Diamondluvr I'm completely envious!  I haven't seen it before and it blew me away.

You mean the one on this page? I love you diamondluvr but you're nuts. You would not be able to get that color and that meticulous workmanship today for double what you paid for it. If I had the bucks right now I wouldn't say that, I'd just call you and get it before you changed your mind.

Man, do I have to do everything around here?

« Reply #38 on: July 23, 2008, 11:25:04 AM »

Not for nothin' but to me, that ring is your signature ring--I can't imagine that on anyone else's finger and not think of you DL. It has your name written all over it. There aren't many rings out there that you can say that about.

BTW, did you design it or was it a stock piece?

DJM-thanks for your input, this was my first purchase from David and it was his fabulous design---I hadn't broken him in to my crazy jewelry ideas yet!!!  Grin

I'm cookin' up another design, this one-I think, is something he said he's never seen done before and I think-baffling him a bit (not possibility wise, design wise---I think his setters can do almost anything fantastically)!  I only sent him a crude mock up and think I need to sit down and draw out my design on paper-for a better perspective---this is going to sound terrible, but all my drawing supplies are MIA-I don't even have a regular pencil I can find around here, Moving is such a challenge---AAAAAGH!
