A very good friend of mine just lost her father to cancer last week. Before he died, she wrote that she felt like she was "on the other side of the mirror" and she didn't know if she'd ever get back to the other side.

I've lost almost everyone close to me, and I think what happens during and after the death of a loved one is so hard to explain... life seems to feel out of the ordinary. You feel loss and sadness and anger, yet, somehow, this kind of experience may make you feel more solid, more in touch, closer to your core self. And, somehow, closer to your lost loved one, as he seems to slip more out of reach (and yet, I think, he will always be right with you). 

DJM, you are "on the other side of the mirror." And, when it happened to me, there was no going back. Sad, yes. However, I feel more in tune with life now. Hard to explain. Compassion and wisdom are bittersweet.

All you can do is embrace the new you – a more enlightened, more empathetic, more discerning, generous and mature you who will always share some of life's best moments and insights with your dear departed buddy. And now, you may share these wonderful insights with your own loved ones.

You know the old saying, "do as I do, not as I say." Make your life the best it can be. Your beloved friend has passed you the torch... now carry on.   Kiss

Love the diamond, and the ring  (never thought of the ring set on the bias like that). Very nice.  Love the diamond.  Wait, did I say that already, is it deja vu, or an echo?  Just lovely.
