It was the greenish/yellowish/whitish stone in the Oval Diamonds section:

http://rockdiamond.c...ia-rare-beauty-r4121

I'm still not ready to make any diamond purchases yet, but I was zeroing in on this one.  Hope it found a good home.

LU, I saw that stone on the sold page.  I'm sorry you had your eyes on it.   I hope you have other stones that you have your eyes on?  That one was a cool looking stone though... Sad

Oh, yes, I have a few others I really love, too.  An emerald, an Asscher, an oval brilliant and a couple of actual rings, both emerald cuts.  There are some great buys here, even for those of us shopping in the $3,000-$6,000 range.  But I'm kind of scared to post my favorites for fear they will be "snatched."  I'll just have to hope they stay put until my budget expands.

It just plain hurts when that happens. I know.

Got to say though, for all the ones that got away, there's another one you'll love just a little bit more, waiting for you.  Wink  As my grandmother used to say, what's for you won't go by you....

If you don't have an emerald cut stone yet...you need one!  IMHO, they are AMAZING!     alarm      Lips Sealed     alarm

I admired that stone as well.  Sorry for your loss, but Mrs. M is correct, one will show up that's for you.  Happy hunting!

(blush)  I can assure you that it is about to go to a very good home fairly soon.

That lovely stone was purchased for me recently by my fiance -- it will be the center stone in my engagement ring.   4

Once we get the necessary funds together (hopefully not too much longer now, UGH -- between relocating, and Christmas, and two birthdays, money just seems to vanish these days!  Tongue), we'll have it set in this semi-mount in platinum:
http://rockdiamond.c...diamond-melee-so3956

David indicated we could use green gold for the prongs and skirting underneath to bring out as much of the green as possible, and I know I'll be on the edge of my seat to see the finished product.

I'm just over the moon about the strong fluorescence -- if there was any way to have all (or at least half) of the melee stones be fluorescent as well, I'd ask them to do that, but apparently that makes the process too complicated.

My beau and I looked at probably hundreds of rings and hundreds of stones and we just kept coming back to this little green diamond over and over again.  The thing that clinched it for me is that I realized part of what I loved about it was that it is the same color as his eyes ... green most days, but depending on the light, some days a pale aqua bluelove3

We have even given it a name -- The Sweet Pea.

As Mrs. Mitchell said earlier -- I bet the perfect diamond for you will come along and it will arrive at exactly the perfect time.  I don't have many myself, so I am delighted that this one will be mine, and that it came along when it did, just like my fella.   angel

HighRoad, congratulations on finding your stone I love the setting you have chosen and I REALLY love that David is using green gold to set it off! That sounds so striking, unique, and just all around awesome.

LateUnicorn, I feel your pain. I have a few favorites that I would be sad to see a "Sold" sign under too.

oh HighRoad, Congratulations on your engagement and the lovely ER that you have picked out.  It's a beautiful stone and the setting is wonderful!  I look forward to seeing it set...so please don't forget to post many pictures of your Sweet Pea when it's done.  Do you plan on setting the shank with single cut stones or fully faceted?  Love both, but one day I hope to use the single cut myself in a ring.

I love that your DF's eyes are close in color to the diamond...so cool!   Cool

I wish you both all the best!  Smiley    Kiss

I don't know how I missed this stone in the first place.  It's absolutely stunning, with a distinct yet delicate color.  That's gonna make a really nice ring . . . can't wait to see the results!  Congratulations on your engagement as well!   icon_thumleft

I can also report that the Big Daussi has been sold.  Cry My Daussi as I liked to think of it.

I hope that the new owner realises what she has done is thrilled with this beautiful and very special ring. I also hope she wants to trade it up round about September 2014, when I will be looking for something to celebrate the end of my legal traineeship... Wink

Oh, just anybody try and stop me!  ;-)

I'll be on Cloud 9 that day.  I get the feeling Mr. HighRoad will be too -- he'll likely bust a button showing it off to his family.   Wink

You really think so?

sultan  Do tell -- what about the shape is sublime, in your opinion?  :-)  Much as I love this particular little oval, I've always tended to think of ovals as being rather ordinary -- the "safe" cut a gem cutter gives to a stone they fear they might otherwise shatter.

I'd love to learn what makes the shape special and lovely in the case of this stone!   laugh

It'll be a while before I get to actually buy anything.  February, I think.  I'll try not to be too upset if I "lose" more of "my" rings/stones before then.

If your favorites do go to a loving home, you can always save the listing and we could do our best to help recreate it too.  I know a stone like this is rather rare, but we can do our best to find what you love Smiley

HighRoad what I loved most about the Yellow-Green diamond was the over all shape to it.  It isn't like the traditional ovals I have seen.  It's a little "flat" on the top and that's a neat thing IMO.  The cut looks amazing too.  Though in general I find rounds or princesses to be a "safe" choice and ovals to be more unique.

ACK!  It just happened again.  To the owner of this beautiful piece--I envy you:

I don't intend to whine about every ring or stone that gets sold before I can really commit to buying anything here, but I just had to vent for a sec.  DBL, your stuff is too great!

I totally understand.  Honestly I really loved that ring a lot too.  It had always been on my radar and the only reason why I didn't get it was because I fell in love with another ring just a little bit more.  Someone is very lucky to be wearing that beauty!

But Remember...these were just put in front of you for you to get an idea of what you like and what you don't like for when you are ready to commit!  So it's all good!      Cool
