Hi Everyone!
We have a trade up policy. What happens to rings that have been traded in?
Of course it's a given that the diamonds are in good shape- otherwise we could not accept the ring back- but damaging diamonds themselves is not all that easy.
Although I never advocate diamonds as a "commodity"- this is one area where they act like a negotiable stock.
Heck, they are all a kajillion years old anyway- so "used" diamond is not applicable term.
In fact, if someone had bought a well cut diamond of size at a good price years ago- they might actually make a profit selling to a dealer. But once the dealer has the diamond, he can send it to GIA, get a new report and it's for all intents and purposes, identical, to one cut yesterday.
How about the ring?
Well, in some cases the ring looks completely brand new when we get it back.
People have actually bought rings to look at in the box.
But say the ring is in good condition- but shows normal wear. Then what?
Well, since we' manufactured the ring in the first place, and we start with a heavy ring, it's a fairly simple procedure to make the ring look identical to the day it was made.
But even if we could sell the ring for brand new, I feel that people should know, and some special price should apply.
Generally I have priced the trade in rings a bit less than brand new ones- even if they look brand new. But maybe we should actually feature them.....I was thinking that people might actually like to see what's been traded in.
It might possibly even become a popular destination on the site....
As a test, let's start with a ring I've loved since we first made it.
it used to belong to our dear friend lunvjewelry- who has moved up to a ring with a pink diamond halo...
Anyway, here's the first "Trade Up Special" - priced especially low for our CDI friends- I love you guys.

We got the ring back in stellar condition- still, we sent it back to the factory for a polish, and check all diamonds to make sure they are in there well.
