Hi Everyone!

We have a trade up policy. What happens to rings that have been traded in?

Of course it's a given that the diamonds are in good shape- otherwise we could not accept the ring back- but damaging diamonds themselves is not all that easy.

Although I never advocate diamonds as a "commodity"- this is one area where they act like a negotiable stock.
Heck, they are all a kajillion years old anyway- so "used" diamond is not applicable term.
In fact, if someone had bought a well cut diamond of size at a good price years ago- they might actually make a profit selling to a dealer. But once the dealer has the diamond, he can send it to GIA, get a new report and it's for all intents and purposes, identical, to one cut yesterday.

How about the ring?
Well, in some cases the ring looks completely brand new when we get it back.
People have actually bought rings to look at in the box.
But say the ring is in good condition- but shows normal wear. Then what?

Well, since we' manufactured the ring in the first place, and we start with a heavy ring, it's a fairly simple procedure to make the ring look identical to the day it was made.
But even if we could sell the ring for brand new, I feel that people should know, and some special price should apply.

Generally I have priced the trade in rings a bit less than brand new ones- even if they look brand new. But maybe we should actually feature them.....I was thinking that people might actually like to see what's been traded in.

It might possibly even become a popular destination on the site....

As a test, let's start with a ring I've loved since we first made it.
it used to belong to our dear friend lunvjewelry- who has moved up to a ring with a pink diamond halo...
Anyway, here's the first "Trade Up Special" - priced especially low for our CDI friends- I love you guys.

We got the ring back in stellar condition- still, we sent it back to the factory for a polish, and check all diamonds to make sure they are in there well.
All these photos were taken today

I think this thread is a great idea David!

As far as this particular ring goes, it very nearly became my ER, so needless to say, I love it.  The color is just so warm and inviting, and it's the halo that started the craze!  Plus, whoever buys it already has about 1000 amazing pictures of it - taken by our lovely Ronda of course.

I love this idea too, and cannot wait to see the other goodies that circle back!  Hopefully my own FBY will be here sometime in the coming year!  Meanwhile, this halo is just gorgeous, and what a tremendous price!!  WOW!!!!

I too love this idea...........and what better ring to start this thread out with. Smiley    PHenominal price David!    I can't imagine that someone won't scarf this baby up.   For anyone who is standing on the fence, let me tell you that I can't say enough about how much I love(d) this ring!   I long to own another diamond just like  that center stone!!   The color is out of this world and nothing like I have ever seen.    The cut is phenominal.  Rays of purple, green, gold, olive, yellow................every color of the rainbow radiate from it.    And the halo design,  they are built to last!  I can't believe how heavy the craftmanship is of this ring.     There really aren't enough words to describe how beautiful it is.  I sure hope that this ring graces someones presence soon!!  Smiley

If I didn't already have a ring in this setting (my Asscher), I'd be in full scheme-and-dream mode.

This is GORGEOUS!

David, can we see which other pieces in your arsenal are trade-up specials, or are you just going to add new ones as they come?  There is a great asscher I have long admired that I believe belongs here too!!

JK!  Just excited to see all the goodies you will be placing here down the road!  But, yes, I know there are more pressing things you need to get to, like sending me the new pear with trills.  You did say it was free to the first asker, right??
