Were we speaking of brown diamonds?  Well, if we were, this one would be a good one to talk about.

ITEM #: R2580
Round Brilliant Diamond, Loose

  WEIGHT: 2.33ct
  SHAPE: Round Brilliant
  COLOR: Fancy Intense Brown
  CLARITY: SI1
  MEASUREMENTS: 8.35 - 8.38 x 5.40 mm
  TOTAL DEPTH: 64.7%
  FLUORESCENCE: MEDIUM BLUE
Price: $8995
Forum Special Price: $8659
.

The color is quite difficult to capture in terms of a camera, or even language.  It goes from an orangey brown to a pure brown.  Sometimes I see highlights of green in there....

Wow . . . that is a pretty stone.  Looks like light copper and has tons of sparkle.   This stone looks so nice it could just be in a rose gold double underwire solitaire and look smashing.  Or for something a little more fancy, a platinum solitaire with RBs down each side of the band.

Man, do I have to do everything around here?

I'm right there with you annie. The person that lands Miss Congeniality here is one lucky person. This, once again, proves that browns are the best kept secret in the industry--look at the personality on this one!!!

If DW didn't already have a brown RB, I'd be nabbing this one for sure.

Timing is everything.  This is, quite possibly, the stone that I've been waiting for.  I've been stalling on a purchase from David (sorry David, you know I love you and I'm out here TRYING to get it RIGHT!) because I want to be sure that it is something very special. When I first saw this lovely diamond this morning, I could have purchased it.  Then, as always, something went wrong here. *SIGH* Just minutes ago, I sent my DH off with a big check (from my "DSA" account) that dashed all hope of nabbing this diamond today. I am CRUSHED.  Bawling  I mean, REALLY CRUSHED.   Cry

david Lovely, David.  Just lovely.  I'll be sorry for asking, but does it flash all the spectral colors?

Oh, shoot.  Before I reply here, David, I just want to say that the handshot in your first post (just above the video) is to DIE for. I have to stop and stare every time I scroll down here.

OK, here's my thought: I really like the CONTRAST of the browns against colorless/near colorless stones, especially with a bigger center stone.  Do you have a pair of something near-colorless handy?  Pears, baguettes, small rounds? I bet the center stone will look absolutely KILLER when the subtle color POPS against the sides.

BTW, David, are those the two R2540 rounds (I've been curious about them) or have you been out shopping again?

I would love to see this set with white pears!  ::sigh::

Seems we got a quorum going on here--I agree with the colorless next to the brown. Definitely!

Well call me crazy, but I love it this way!!!!  Wish I could buy it and prove to you all this is how it is meant to be!!  I could see it with rose gold prongs and then a white gold or platinum shank.

Of course, T, since it seems inevitable you will be buying it, you should get final say... Evil

No, GL, I'm afraid that this one is not in the cards for me (unless David is having a 50 percent sale!).  But, when the time is right, I know David can find another.  Evil Actually, I'd been saving for the big brownish oval R2486 that David has. I had it planned to set between two colorless ovals (for my 50th Birthday next year). But, just when I was ALMOST there with the cash, I had to write a big, fat, sorry, sad check yesterday and my dream went up in smoke. Never fails. Anyway, I'm getting better about watching stuff slip though my fingers...  dontknow

I wouldn't, in this case.  Oh, don't get me wrong-- I'm obsessed with rounds set between pears.

However, Trinkette already HAS such a ring, and doesn't need another one!  (Aw, Trinkette, I'd really love for you to have this.  It would look sooo pretty on your newlywed hand!  I'm bummed for you about the expenses you've had  Sad.)
