Dang you, David. I love that emerald cut.

I just started lurking around this site again because I will soon be in the market for a right hand diamond. I'm training to compete in a 100 mile run this autumn, and if I'm successful I will reward myself with a new diamond. There's no way this one will last until fall though!

-Dove

PS: I'm still loving my Daussi split shank I bought from you last year!

It was good

But the stone doesn't sparkle as it supposed to be.

I think it is GORGEOUS.  I love emerald cuts that show off a little color - you don't see too many of those around.  **swoon**

What a GREAT way to stay motivated Dove!  100 mile run!??  Wooh!  Yes I'd say a diamond is in order after something like that!  Smiley

Best wishes and much success in your training!

Candy- Emerald cuts have more glitter than sparkle. They are cut to show concentric depth while cushion cuts are supposed to have sparkle.

I love the color!  Just not a fan of longer emerald cuts.  I'm a fan of  more square or squat stones (weather radiants, pears, marquise etc) so usually ones like this are just eh to me.

But I really love the color!!!!!  I'd "kill" for an asscher in that color  Grin

SaoriViola, I am just glad I agreed to a new kitchen otherwise our funds would be drained with a few of the ones I have seen here.

And teach me to post while watching the news.  It should be "whether" not "weather".  I was too busy trying to find out how much snow we might get to pay attention to that  Roll Eyes

I'd really like to see a video of this one. I think it's hard to get a feel for its personality in these pics.

Also, what is the fluorescence doing to the colour in this particular stone?

Great Questions Jen!

I have shot a video, but it's very difficult to "pin a color" on this stone.
This is due to both the cut and the Strong Blue aspect.

Although you will find "facts" on the web that may be different, I have found that many times emerald cuts hide color.

I'll see about getting that video posted later today.

Funny you mention the cut hiding colour - I have thought that myself when I've looked at ECs both in settings and loose. I was so sure that was wrong that I didn't trust my eye, so it's reassuring to hear that I wasn't imagining it.

Jen
I'll bet Jen is asleep already ( slacker...hehehe)

Seriously- hopefully she's blissfully snoozing away the night with dreams of vivid yellow pink and blue Asscher cuts

In any event- here you go Jen!

The FLUORESCENCE is amazing on this diamond- it makes the stone look almost colorless at times.

Whaaaa? Who turned the lights off?
Yep, I was slacking! Sadly didn't dream of anything as nice as diamonds. Accountancy class yes, diamonds no. So wrong.

That diamond is ticking all the boxes for me. Its just wonderful to watch and it has a lot of personality.
It's a nice size, too. I love how it moves from a soft yellow to almost bluish white. What a lovely thing.
