HI everyone!

We are proud to announce the arrival of the DBL "Ultra-Flower"

This is a hand forged platinum solitaire.
The first one we made came out of a client request for something different- related to R3882- she loved the wire work on the bottom of the head.
This will serve as a model for the ring with a 4mm shank- incredibly substantial.
The ring with this shank would run $4100

Well, we just got the first one with a 2mm platinum shank, and an 18kt yellow gold head.
Although the style is simple, manufacturing it is quite difficult.
As we make more, it will get easier, but we had to make this one twice to get it right.
This style will run $2500 for stones up to 2.00ct

Maybe it's because I don't like very much large rounds, but I much prefer the slimmer version. It has all the perfect workmanship of the all-platinum, and (at least with the OEC) it manages to look so classic yet unique.

I have short fingers so I am always drawn to a more slim band... this one is perfection!!!

I don't even have a stone I could do this with, but I really want a ring like this!  Well done Smiley

That OEC looks more yellow that U-V. Typically round diamonds don't look as yellow. Does it look that yellow in person? Is it because it's an OEC?

OMC does bring up a great point- the shank itself transforms this ring.
For those who want something bold, that's the way to go.
Useless to try and describe the feel of that ring- it weighed something like 8 lbs:)

Seriously- the quality of the feeling of the metal is amazing-  the really heavy ones- such as the 2ct round shown below are something very special to the touch.
It took hours and hours to hand forge that shank.

The smaller version is certainly more "traditional" as it were
I expect that well probably sell 10 to 1 traditional versus bold- and I suspect the ones who love bold are fine with that. sultan

Great question Flash!
Actually I'm not all that thrilled with the photos.
the light box is amazing for capturing details- and the reflection shots.
But I always use automatic white balance on the camera- and the camera makes some changes to yellow in the lightbox.
It does look like that- but only in that lighting- it goes between faint yellow to a more noticeable hue in different lighting.

typical of older cuts, it does well in dim lighting- like that romantic dinner. ooh la la

A flower for a flower.  heart2

Seriously, I really love this setting and I have never been much of a solitaire kind of girl. I've always wanted side stones and lots of details. I love how graceful it looks and I love the claw prongs. LOVE the claw prongs!!

The bottom picture is my favorite - you can really see the daisy in the center of the OEC.

They are both absolutely lovely, but I must say, I do love that bold shank. So elegant. Just a little bit of a twist on an absolute classic, and it works incredibly well.

Can this be made to work with other shapes, or is it more or less for rounds only?

I like the thick shank with the all-white metal and near-colorless diamond, and I like the thinner shank with the two metal colors and matching colored stone. The decision to keep metal all the same or bi-colored marks a subtle, however notable, shift in design emphasis. Each ring is stunning, exquisitely simple, and shows-off each solitaire to best advantage.

Perfectly executed, if you ask me. (Go ahead, ask me...)   devildance

Both are beautiful but I personally prefer the thicker band!
Nice job!

Really pretty.  I love the twist-on-a-flawless-classic concept.  And yes, as asked above, I'd love to know if could work with other diamond shapes.

I think people were asking about other shapes... Here is a cushion.  Looks very cool too.
