I was lucky to find this lot today!
Really well cut- 13 stones- care to guess the weight?
Here's a montage of photos...

I have no idea about the weight; they could be 15 pointers or 1 carat each... there is no reference at all. If I had to guess, given the way they lay about and the size of the reflections in them, I'd say they are about 0.25/0.35 each, which would make the parcel about 3.5 carats.

In any case, I love the one closest to the camera on the fifth photo from the top.

No clue either on the size.  I can't find much of a good reference.  I also think I see a decent difference in size on some but not entirely sure.  I'll guess .25-.5 stones.  It's too early here for real thinking.

A lot of these are very nice looking stones.

They all look very nice, I really like the one on the left.  I wonder if it's big enough for a pendant?  One with that shape you have lined out like a journey pendant could be very nice.  Now that I say that I'm interested in that idea so if it works let me know.

I'd guess around 3ct for the lot? They're beautiful. So many things you could do with these. I'd take a pair of bezeled lever back earrings in rich yellow gold. Well, I suppose that would depend on the sizes, although I think you could pull that off with pretty much any size pair!

At least my upper range was close... yeah okay I know better than that Wink

I would love these much like what Jen suggested.  Though I do think I would want two tone gold so that it would "match" the rest of my stuff.  Yellow bezel, white gold lever back.

We do have an update on a few so far.....
This one just hit the site. .64ct M/VS1

Here's a cool thing- the GIA gives the diamond an "EX" cut grade- and the stone was not cut with the intention of having a GIA report drawn- in other words, this cutter just took that much care.
It's a type of cut I really love.
60/60 with longer Lower Girdle Facets.
What this means is that the "table"- the flat part on top- is slightly larger than other "ideal" cut diamonds.
The longer facets on the bottom of the diamond produce a less organized type of sparkle- as opposed to "Hearts and Arrows"

This one got a "VG" Cut grade- it's not slouch either. .54ct O-P color VS1

This one got a grade of W-X VVS2- and the EX cut grade to boot!

Here's a brand new grouping.

I'd say preliminary color guess would be M-UV colors

Anyone want to guess the total weight?

I have no idea on the total weight, but my thought was that they looked like they were in military formation. And David is their general.

Well my guess was going to be between 25-30 carats so I think we're all thinking similarly Wink

I love the tolk proportions though on the M colored diamond.  I prefer less patterning in my rounds and that one does it well.

Thanks guys!!

Actually Squig, a "Tolk" would have more patterning- and a smaller table.
"Tolk" refers to "Tolkowski" who invented the modern Round Brilliant as we know it. These first modern round brilliant stones had smaller ( 53-57%) tables
Then, as cutting techniques improved in the '50's the modern developments let to larger tables- such as the 60% table on the M color.

Then in the mid '80's a company called "Lazaare Kaplan" revived the smaller table- and coined the phrase "Ideal Cut"

"Table" is the largest facet on the diamond- the flat part on top.

saqsay- a nice glass of wine maybe??

Hup two three four, HUP two three four

What a kewl parcel!! The stones are all VS- all really nicely cut.
I did throw out three because I did not love the cut on those.
The color ranges from M to W-X.
Some have strong fluorescence.

Another incredible aspect is the price.
We can offer these to CDi members at a special price of $1100 per carat, or about $220 per stone.
They will go on the site for $1200 per carat.

IF the stones were F-G color we'd be looking at $2k per carat.......

Okay I am not a huge fan of rounds, but $220 a stone?!?!?!?!?  It's DS's 2nd favorite shape (next to heart)

What can I make with them... hmmm.... any have any cool tones to them you really like?

And strong fluor?
that's my kind of stone
