Well, I want these. And I am willing for someone to snatch them up because they're not in my budget right now and I'm suffering having to see them all the time. I remember the superman dangly diamond earrings

http://rockdiamond.c...p;action=show_detail

The bottom part of those is what I would have made. I might even have them made sort of like ronda's em cut earrings with the euro wire. But I'm just fantasizing.

Haha, that picture cracks me up every time.  He has his lovely fiancee in the office now though, so I doubt we'll be seeing more stubble filled ear shots.  Smiley

hey Guys1
This is the scoop on these pirincess cuts.

Both have GIA reports- and they make a great match.
The amazing thing is that one is Fancy Yellow ( VS1), and the other is Y-Z range ( VVS1)
Each Diamond weighs .70cts.
The pair is priced at $5775 set in 18kt yellow gold studs....

Maybe this is one reason they match so well... the measurements are quite close- and both are almost perfect squares.
The fancy Yellow VS1:4.93 x 4.91 x 3.06mm
Y-Z VVs1:4.99 x 4.97 x 2.95mm

They look yellow now but once set I think they will really pop.

Check out how yellow this fancy yellow princess got once it was set in a ring.

Here's what I think it is...

In person, I can see the slight difference between the diamonds. The fancy Yellow is indeed a bit darker.

The Y-Z was an "unlucky" grade for the cutter. The Fancy Yellow was probably a lucky grade. On a different day they both get Fancy Light Yellow.

In this instance, the fact that the Fancy Yellow was a "Lucky" grade for the cutter illustrates the difficulty of grading the shades in fancy yellow diamonds.

Imagine the color scale for each of the grades from U-V- down to Fancy Vivid Yellow each contain a range of 1-10. In the case of Y-Z color, a "1" is very close to a W-X, and a "10" is very close to Fancy Light Yellow. An "Unlucky Fancy Light" like this one.

Borderline diamonds are so difficult to grade that they might get one GIA grade one day, and another GIA grade the next.
The person who submitted the diamond can ask for a re-check. If GIA changes the grade , it's free.
if they agree with their first finding, they charge half the first report's cost.
There are instances of both happening.
We've rarely submitted a diamond for a re-check....maybe once.....

Adding to this is the fact that the Fancy Yellow Diamond has Medium Blue Fluorescence and the Y-Z has none.

True WM- the diamonds will pop even more when we set them!
