HI everyone!
Chameleons are a very interesting member of the fancy colored diamond family.
It's rare to find one in a larger size.
This one is 1.44- unusually large- and also very well cut.

Nice cut, and nice crystal, it seems. It's also great that there is no brown, and the colour is very definitely green.

Is the inclusion quite as visible as it seems in the photo?

Interesting question omc.

I was quite surprised when I saw how obvious the imperfection is in the photos
IN person it's not so easy to pick it out.

Also great point about the purity of the color- it has an effect on the price as well.
We'd offer this stone at $32k

What a beautiful color!  I'd love a mint green diamond.  I am bothered by the fluorescence on this guy, though.  I'm not sure why I'm so sensitive to fluorescence, as I've read so many comments from those who say they like it.   I'm weird, I guess.  Roll Eyes

Poor thing! It's going to be frozen and boiled!

It's an absolutely lovely colour and I like the shape a lot. Nice stone. How do you plan to set it?

I love diamonds that lend themselves well to science experiments.    Grin

VERY pretty. Good thing it is out of my financial range these days, or, I'd be TOTALLY fixated on this stone. The color-change aspect doesn't even come into play for me... she's lovely as is.

Screwed the pooch on this one.
I forgot to put the chameleon in the dark to get her in the first stage.
I'll make sure to get this done next week......

I so agree!  Even without the color changing (which I think is awesome) I love this stone!!  I cannot wait to see more pictures of it in different lighting too.

Just a musing on the nature of human beings and diamonds:

If after a night in the dark and in the cold someone put a bright light into our eyes and a flame to our peachy bottoms, we'd change colour too. That means we are all chameleons. Just effing swearing ones.

The International Council for the Prevention of Cruelty to Diamonds is against this sort of treatment. Well done David for "forgetting". We know deep down (about as deep as an exhausted diamond pipe) you care.

Here we go!

The before photo was taken after the stone had been kept in the dark for 18 hours.
To get the after photo I heated the diamond using a metal scoop and bic cigarette lighter
